Title: 300gpd RO
Post by: Paul T on October 26, 2012, 02:53:24 pm
Afternoon fellas, if I run my 300 god RO continually in the flush mode will it damage the membranes, long term.
The reason I say is because I get a much lower tds reading when flushing and this saves on resin!
I know you get a kit more waste water but I'm not on a meter

Thanks

if you want to run it like that you can, but the membranes are designed to work under pressure.
so will lose your production rate, and waste a lot of water.

you would be better of getting a booster pump for what you have, or add another membrane or larger membranes.

for best answer talk to the people who supply the gear , someone like RO Man

Thanks gto,
I keep planning to get a booster pump but never get round to it. Just more worried about damaging membranes by flushing continually

I get a higher reading in the flush mode. The reading should go down as pressure is increased.

Maybe you need to change filters/membranes.

If you are filtering water then your not flushing the R.O.
Flushing means running all the water to waste and clearing  the R.O. membranes.

confusing,     you only flush for 15 - 30 minutes to rinse the membranes.  then turn back to make pure,    i use a 120psi shurflo pump as my booster,   does a good job. ::)

If you are filtering water then your not flushing the R.O.
Flushing means running all the water to waste and clearing  the R.O. membranes.

On the flush mode of the 300gpd Ro-man unit you still get water going through the membranes but not so much, meaning you get a far higher ratio of waste.
