Title: My new gutterlite poles
Post by: Carl@Cwc on October 24, 2012, 11:13:19 pm
arrived today so coupled it up to my vac and wow they are so much lighter than alu poles its unreal. ;D

just need to change the end tools to a lighter format and im all sorted on the vac front.

3000watt hoover ,3 motor switchable with 50mm inlet
5 mtrs of 50mm hose
3 x gutterlites (gardners) 3 poles are as good as the same weight as 1 alu pole and a u tool
bits and bobs of silicone hoses and jubilees = pennies in comparison

gonna buy exactly the same for 2nd van now i have got it right.
plus i got 4 jobs to do from tomorrow on gutters. = result

I have the old Clarke 30 gutter vac system, the diameter of my hose and pipes looks twice the size of yours, so my question is- do you get a lot of blockages..?  as it does look good

You will find his poles are the same diameter as yours and the hose looks like 50mm too.
Few good reasons why your getting blocked gear mate,
the 1st is poor suction from your vac due to age also check your filters are clean, I use a 1400 vac and it has never blocked once yet you can get away with a 1400w vac upto 20ft anything 3rd story you might wanna bigger vacuum.
Also cleaning your pole and hoses after each clean is very important part of performance.
Drop the nozzle in a bucket of water and switch the vac on and it will flush everything out of your pole and hose making it clean and light weight again as tiles dust will clog even the biggest diameter hoses..
Hope this helps... Rob!!

Any idea how long the sections are Carl?? im using Omni Alu poles at the mo and want to swap to CF. Started to look for them but couldnt find them sold seperately on the grippa site or gardiners (maybe im blind). Like the angle on the end adaptor.
Did they come with clamps for each section?Be interested to hear how you get on with them after your next few jobs!

fella is on here on the hard floor cleaning side,
he imported mine with a 50mm inlet whilst i was there.
took 5 days to arrive and was £430 if i remember correctly.

he uses these to suck up floor grinding slurry etc so are more than up to the job.

they are alexs modular poles but he supplies them direct to grippatank.

in my honest opinion ,if u do this work a lot you would be mad not to buy them.
they are so light and rigid and they were for me a bit like when i first got an slx22

why the hell didnt i buy these ages ago.

they look really nice, how high can you comforatably work with these? i've got 28' of 50mm alloy poles but find 24' is about as high as i can manage to use them with ease.

well my alu poles were over a kilo each these weigh 340grams i think .
so if i needed to i could manage  60 ft i reckon.

ive used 4 alu poles and end gear which equates to about 4.5kg

Hard to say without having ago on them but yeah they look really good and strong mate.. My vans to small to carry them on board I think.. Shame you can't do a try before you buy basis it's very hard buying stuff without having ago on them first hey.
I've got 4 jobs Saturday I'm looking forwards to doing.

i'll give mine a weigh tomorrow. it's getting them upright that's the problem when they're too long. i turn cleaning gutters on big 3 storey buildings down, so if i could manage that height comfortably they would soon pay for themselves.

this is usually how it ends for me m8 ;)

i buy sommat and someone posts up something i would of preferred/ liked.

mine are in a mwb master so room not an issue.

i aint one to blow smoke up someones ar*e , but they really are a revelation in use. i flew round the property today .
i think even the 135 silicon bend is way better than a fixed shape on the end as there is so much movement there ( if u need it) that you aint changing position all the time

good business sense from alex really, he already uses / sells them so why not modify and selll as alternative product.

Same as Carl... I had guttercleaningsystems poles weighing 4.4kg without head attached and having carbon poles makes my job a joy to do now, flys over extensions no problem.

I would think that as they are carbon, the wear rate will be higher.

yeah that would be my worry.

my alloy poles are from guttervacuumsystems and they weigh 600g for a 4' section not including clip. so at 28' my alloy poles weigh 4.2kg (not including clips) where as the same length of these is 1.58kg, that's a hell of a difference.

They do look good but I'm sticking with my ally ones too.

I can't see carbon lasting all that long with the bashing about I give my poles, and the ally are built to last

hi guys ive used them for the first time today, and ive no comparison to alu poles but worked with 24 ft or 4 sections with ease , i learnt the wisdom of washing out the vacuum hose with a fresh bucket of water after each job ,otherwise the vacuum pressure does lose some power.

reminded me of when i first started wfp , takes a couple of days to figure the best and most effective way to work.
great to have a change from windows though

if u get them get the 135 degree silicon bend off ebay and the right size clips and a small length of alu to make ur own end tools.
i just cut up an old u tool and hammered the one end to make a crevice tool.

the silicone bend has so much movement its a godsend.

done a 4 bed detatched today ups and downs conny aswell , and then a 3 bed semi front and backs . paid for half the poles already.
and it was quite enjoyable to do them without constantly swapping arms etc.

i cleaned both ends up after each use , they cost too much to throw about.

cheapest and easiest way to get the tools u need m8 ;)

i bought stainless tube to make some end tools ,but it was too heavy in comparison. @alexgadiner please make some carbon end tool with a steel lip.

so i cut up a spare u tool i had and its perfect to use , i cut them about 10" long probably shorter.

i did a gutter clean today with loads of tile bits etc in them and they just swooshed down the tube.....

i know they are really expensive ,but ..... they are really like when u first get an slx pole

what the f**k have i been doing struggling like an idiot for ,when these are available.

just clean them after each use and they should serve us well.
im gonna get a large bottle cleaner to clean the insides of each end after each use.

Has anyone used these poles with the omnivac if so does the hose connect ok and can you use the alloy heads with these poles

Also are the easier to connect together than the alloy omnivac ones which are hard to get tight so they slip and twist all the time

Thanks for your reviews on the GutterLites. To clarify, the gutter-lite poles are made on our behalf by Gardiners - we  chose them as our supplier of the poles for the GrippaVAC range due to their excellent feedback and extensive knowledge in the WFP pole market.

With regard to fittings - these poles can certainly be used with any gutter vacuum, however it is certainly recommend that the vacuum has a 50.8 (i.e 51mm) diameter hose and entry point on the vacuum to ensure you get the best possible suction
