hi all

Q - Patient, accident in room on carpet can you come ...
A - Ok but'll be lunch time ish as i have other work this morning..
so goes as agreed sure enough surgery room however the accident had happened last week and they wanted it cleaned and freshened up for the doctor returning next week...
ok so not as bad as thought gives a quote said i cud sort there and then etc. etc.. about 45 mins work if that tops!
manager well thats a bit pricey! anyways explains the process and why the price is what it is take or leave it...
so being the nhs i thought i'm going to wait yonks for payment and spend more time trying to get paid than the job cost..
so i dropped in i needed payment upon completion!..
away she goes make a call
comes back gives me the go ahead and pays in CASH on completion!
NHS - Totally amazed but wasn't knocking it!

Petty cash. Thats where carpet cleaners are normally paid from, even if you have to wait 1 - 2 months it still comes from petty cash.
There is no budgeted cash for this type of work.
If they didnt have you in, they'd have more sandwiches on the buffet at christmas.
Blacky - dont give two hoots where it come from but i was canny amazed ... not so skint and strapped for cash after all are they!..

Doctors surgeries are run as independent businesses. They get paid for what they do- the more patients processed the more they get paid.
This is why they get you to have a flu jab- attend well being clinics- diabetic clinics- high blood pressure clinics- they get paid per attendance.
I am supposed to be type 2 diabetic and have high blood pressure along with all the drugs which I get on a regular basis but-- I don't take them. They are very pleased with my results each year when I have a checkup!!! ;D
