Any one else use this website to plan jobs? Its free of charge I've put a few jobs up there but feel uneasy using it for some reason. I think its because its free and you dont know who's eyeing up all your work Im probably just paranoid.
-
Never used it.
As a general rule I do not put any information into a website that has no contact details. This one has none whatsoever.

Thanks, think i'll stop using it, just a feeling.

it was designed by a clued up member of here, he was frustrated at the expensive over complicated systems available, he is just a sole trader from fife I really can't see him being interested in your round details, I think if it worked out he was planning charging a small fee in the future. He has helped with a few things over the years and he is a good lad, I really am not worried about details going on it and I stay a lot closer to him than you lads, I am sure he will answer himself though
-
There must some sort of cost involved?
-
i put all my jobs on it and it look great!!!!!
then when i printed a work sheet out i
could not see the prices ,there is a block of colour
that covers it up ..so try printing before you go to far ...

Hi guys. Stuart M pretty much says everything that needs saying so a big thanks to him!
Planmyjobs.com is indeed free as a large number of people are finding already. One of the most common questions I get asked is if PMJ will remain free. The answer is no. At some point in the future we will begin to charge in the region of £2 -£3 a month. This point is still quite a bit off as we don't feel the need to start charging now.
Sparkleglass as a problem which we're aware of but have been unable to replicate in order to fix it. If you have the same issue please let me know so we sort it out.
As for security, each user has their own login and password. The only person that can access your data is someone with your login and password so keep it safe!
I'm aware of the contact details requirements. You can contact us via email, through the website form, Twitter and Facebook. However, as Stuart M said, I'm a sole trader so I am not putting my home address on the website for obvious reasons.

Ive just registierd on the site so will give it a try. I havent tried any other programs of this nature as always been paper sort of guy

I think it is a brilliant idea.
I spent £1500+ on my computer program which I suspect does similar things to yours.
I do have some concerns though. You are asking potential customers to input large amounts of data. There is no mention of data protection on the site.
I am sure you are a trustworthy person but I don't know you from Adam and I stand by initial decision that with no contact details on the site I can't put my customers details in there. Fife is close enough to me to be a concern but even if you were based in Timbuktu, what is to stop you selling on the information to someone nearby?
I am not trying to put your idea down in any way, like I said I think it is a brilliant idea. These are my honest opinions.

:o£1500 just to have as a window cleaning diary and schedule???? What the hell does yours do that others programes cant?.

What the hell does yours do that others programes cant?.
Many things. We have had it 5 years and it has paid for it's self many times over.

Such as? I use a spreadsheet and it's very easy to manipulate in any way I want. I can list jobs by date, or area, search for names, search and print outstanding payments and, well, anything.
What am I missing out on?

I think the key to your question is the word "I". If it were only me using it I think I could get a spreadsheet to do 75% of the functions my programme offers but then I need to hand it over to people who are not necessarily as computer literate as I am (not to say I'm much cop either).
Things that the computer does that I would struggle to get excel to do are, billing customers, taking card payments, automatically organising round orders and integrating with RBS bankline to process customer BACS payments.

Such as what??. Any programe will pay for itself. Someone saw you coming i think. I pay £10 a month and get everything i need or could want.

Not quite. Long term friend. I approached him. I am happy with the program, I will be paying for upgrades and tweaks early next year.
Anyway all this is quite off topic.

Dont all the other programes do that. I have multi workers as well and find aworka to be spot on. Collect my round was also verey good. Even george. I couldnt justify £1500 just to be a round organiser when so many proven working methods available at a fraction of the price.

None do all the things I listed. Most were not around 5 years ago.

We actually sold off 1 last year and 1 earlier this year. We now have 6. We are concentrating on a new window cleaning related venture at the moment.

I would be interested to see what happens with planmyjobs.com as I think it looks like a very interesting idea.

Thanks Soapy. Basic scheduling is in itself quite simple to sort out. However, the main idea behind PlanMyJobs is to have your customer records available on your smartphone when you're out and about in order to avoid the need for paper records. Obviously this requires a phone signal but thankfully I've never had an issue myself. (Yes, I do use PlanMyJobs myself!)
If anyone has any questions or queries then feel free to contact me at Craig.McNeil @ PlanMyJobs.com (remove the spaces in the email address.)

Your correct 5 years ago it was dead. I thought was a recent thing.
