Title: Stripping, sealing and polishing floor
Post by: Ian Rochester on January 31, 2006, 07:32:21 am
We have just got a new commercial daily cleaning contract and the customer wants us to arrange to get the floor (lino tiles) stripped, sealed and polished.

This is not something we do, but before I go out exploring the yellow pages I was wondering what sort of price range people are charging for this service.  The total area is about 300m2

If you want, you can email me at ian@lionheartcleaning.co.uk ...Cheers

Depending on its condition, I would probably charge about £100 for this.

Wow,

The first quote I had yesterday was for...£1200!!  which I did think was a bit steep, hence the question on here!

Quite a variation!

300 square metres isn't a lot.

It's only 20 metres X 15 metres or 70 foot X 50 foot!!!!!

With the right machinery (i.e. rotary machines, wet pickups etc.) it isn't a big job at all.

The biggest expense is for the polish (about £40 for that lot).

Hi

Take a hard floor course with Prochem and you will know what to do, how to price etc and you will be qualified.

Martin,

I may just do that, does anyone know of any hard floor courses that are run in the North East or Scotland?

If you can get one off cleans at £400 good on yer, but I wouldn't charge that for a floor like this FOR AN EXISTING CLIENT.

price depends on how bad the floor is if it is marmoleum you can only use certain strippers, this product is not the same as the vinyl floors & has to be treated very carefully
