So the date is almost upon us, its been nearly 12 months since i lost my 16 year old son, We have good and bad days, but the bad days are getting a lot less, he also would of been 17 on the 3rd of this month
Funny industry this, a lot of people comment on how us carpet cleaners are individuals, but i tell you what, the support i had from this industry and this board when it happened was unbielevable!!!! I can still remember writing " I don't know why i put it on here " , I'm sure it was Ian Gourley that summoned it up perfectly, He said we're a community!!! He was spot on, I'd like to thank you all again for your support at the time and the continued support through this very very dark time in my family's life.
I have also attached a photo of the cert we've just received with the grand total of the money that was raised in the memory of my son for the charity that he was doing the run for, but sadly was killed before he could do it. This is another reason why i'm posting it here, this community was responible for raising close to a quarter of that!!!! Amazing, just amazing!!!! :) :)
Thank you all ever so much, i would love to thank you all individually, but there is so many :)

Hi Guys
The way Billy has conducted himself on this forum right from the beginning of this tragedy has been a great credit to himself and inspirational to all of us.
Lets hope should we ever be placed in a similar position we will show the same courage.
Well done to Billy and Tanya.
Cheers
Doug

Like many on here i am a dad like you and i must admit when this thread was posted i was reluctant to respond because i though, what can anyone say other than the old cliches that you must have heard endlessly since this tragic event.
When my father died recently i found a few "friends" actually avoided me because it was awkward for them ! i thought at the time that this was very selfish and i found out who my real friends were, to lose a parent is of course sad but is within the normal scheme of things, what you and your family have had to endure, no parent should go through.
I think you have shown a dignity, strength and courage that none of us on here can even comprehend, i hope that you fund raising goes from strength to strength what you have done already is amazing and a fitting tribute to your son who as you said was about to raise money for this charity himself, you must quite rightly be very proud of him, and i am sure he would be proud that you are continuing this good work.

Like Jim Roffey
Been meaning to post - I even had a post ready to click to 'post' a few days ago. but couldnt actually push the button. Suffice to say, Billy is a diamond bloke from what I know, and to achieve what he and Tanya have done is brilliant.
And like the other Jim said, glass half full - that sums Billy up.
Keep the faith Billy.

Our thoughts are with you Billy and Tanya. Well done!

The hardest part sometimes is simply getting up in the morning to face the world and you have done so much more than that so hats off to you and Tanya for your strength and determination after going through something that could have easily stopped you in your tracks completely.
Your Son will be very proud of you as is this community.

I have only met you on a couple of occasions and have always found you to be a very genuine guy. I am struggling to really put my thoughts or sympathy into words! I remember that Friday when you were here and had that hassle at home we discussed. Personally I don't think my wife and I can even begin to contemplate what you and Tan have gone through and indeed still enduring. A fantastic achievement with the fund raising and something to be very proud of. Well Done!

Well done billy good stuff mate

Billy, every time your name crops on various forums or FB it reminds me of what you and Tanya had to endure a year ago, and also the way in which you both set about making some good out of it, when most of us would have disappeared to be left along.
Extremely proud of both of you and an inspiration to the rest of us.
