I may need to pick an item up from cornwall can any one give some names or numbers for a courier service or recommendations for a courier

what is it bob.
if it big ie pallet size then best thing todo is put though a network service.
a couier will be bloody dear,as that will be his only job

when you say network service is that like fed ex

if it that size,then you need to look at pallet-ways,pallet force etc.
these cover large items. ;)

125 Litre tanks are not that big or too heavy as they're only about 10Kg (empty! ;)) The dimensions are usually around 290mm (W) x 460mm (H) x 1100mm (L). The likes of TNT, City Link, FedEx etc carry them without any problems (usually just wrapped in strong polythene). If you contact Parcel2Go on the internet and put the dimensions and weight in they should collect without any problems (the dimensions I've given are just for the tanks that we deal with, 125L upright, so you may have to check with whoever you're getting it from). I think Parcel2Go are just an agent and you'll find that the parcel will be collected and delivered by the usual Courier companies. You would usually only need a Pallet company for the tanks 600L and over.

Quick look at parcel2go has that size package at £13 (inc VAT) upwards depending on service.
