Hi guys I have done a lot of reading since I join cleanitup, it pretty clear most of you got a Van Mounted Systems. I am curious to find out more about Van Mounted Systems, how much it cost to buy, how much it cost to maintain the systems, I have yet got myself a van so what kind of van would be idea?
I'm looking to find a company in London that does a Van Mounted Systems... I'm based near heathrow airport, could you recommend me a good company.
I got to go to work now, I look forward to any replies.
Thanks Craggs

Hi, we bought a Renault Trafic SL29 because it has 1200kg payload, and had a Purefreedom 650 ltr two man system fitted.
Extras we had fitted were outside ports, 1 inch pipe fitted to tank for filling trolley, and thingy that lets you fills tank and switches off when full. Really happy with van, the purefreedom system works well.
Think we paid about £2800 for system fitted ( I am useless at DIY so wouldn't attempt fitting ).
Best advice is to buy the best your budget allows.

pure2o have sites all over the place, they will match prices too, get a quote from purefreedom and the cleaning warehouse in wolverhampton for the system you want then call pure2o and get them to match it, they are an ionics company.

Hi, I'm in Richmond the 1st week in November fitting a system for my brother (been fitting systems for 7 years now).
Let me know if your interested in getting a quote, I should be able to save you a few hundred pounds.
Cheers, Jon

one more Qs, how long would it take to fill a 1000 litres... I live in a flat in London, I wont be able to fill the tank in the van overnight unless I plan to live in the van which is not gonna happen. Does it take few hours to fill it or does it literally take all night
Thanks Craggs

I might hold you to that once I got all the answer to my Qs

there is really nothing to it, a couple of pipes to fit and thats it.
you will have to learn or you will have down time evey time you get a problem.
also changing the membranes on the RO is harder than plumbing a van system and you will have to do that yourself.
and 1000l would take my RO 12 hours
-
Take a look at the Gardiner Grippamax system, very nice crash tested unit and good guys to deal with. I would also suggest using a static tank but you'll need to find somewhere such as friends, parents or a local business to store it.
-
The only way round it is to have a 500L tank in my parents back garden to make water overnight.
I will also need a pump and a hose to pass the water over to the 500L tank in the van and another pump to pump the water to my water fed pole.... this can work right?

Email me nokmond@gmail.com with your requirements, type of van etc, and I'll give you a quote mate. Would include split charging relay etc, etc.

If you're gonna make purewater at your parents then you will just need a tank, hose reel and pump in the van mate (my pump is wired to the van battery) and if you choose, a pump controller
What RO were you thinking of?
A 4040 with a booster pump should make 1000 litres in 6hrs or so (I've got a 1000ltr tank in my garage and takes about this long to fill)
Get a submersible pump and some transfer hose and you're away

you wont go Wong. Are you going Sunday?

My 4040 fills a 650l in 1:45 with a booster pump so a 1000l should fill in under 4h

Hi lee, what make make of booster pump do you use, and what is your water PSI once boosted with the pump,
its just because i've just ordered a booster pump and wondering what to expect as my water pressure is only
about 30 PSI.

Or £2475 including fitting. ;D
Seriously though, yes you could pay £6k - £7k for a top of the range ionic system, and this might be sensible if had the commercial contracts to make it worthwhile. But for the majority of us, a simple Pure2o system (also made by ionic) will do perfectly well. And they will price match, so you could get quotes from everywhere then get them to match it.
This is probably what I'll end up doing once chrimbo is out of the way.

On a water meter = less waste to make 650 lts with a roback I only waste on average 125lts
-
not on a meter. ;D ;D ;D
also you have to back flush with salt that cost, and your resin canister in your own word is poop and dont last long and at £80 a trow that aint cheap,
bit dear that is,than mine ;)
-
You will be on a meter eventually Compulsory and that will cost you big time if you dont get a sub meter. Binned the Di canister two years ago ,and its not back flushed, the softener is flushed with a minimal amount of salt to protected the Ro. This it turn keeps the ro in tip top condition and pro longs its life and still makes water at low TDS this in turn prolongs the life of the resin. I only changed my resin at easter after 18 months and that was because it was reading 00.2. The amount of salt is peanuts to buy over the year.
