Title: Using 2 portys in a house.
Post by: Deep Cleaning Solutions on October 15, 2012, 08:11:35 pm
2 portys, 1 your standard twin vac 135psi(Alltec or a grace) and 1 single vac machine about 50psi, would you think it's safe to use both at the same time in your average domestic house with regards to the house electrics. We would be using Rcd's, if the house was fitted with the modern trip box, would it just keep tripping out!
I just thought i would check with some of the more experienced guys on here before i try it out.

Can't see there being a problem. Just don't plug them into the same socket obviously and preferably on a seperate ring main.

As John said on seperate ring mains and with your RCD's all should be fine.

They would be perfectly OK to put in the same double socket.
A standard ring main is either 36 amps or more likely 45 amps.
A double socket will handle 26 amps with no problem, that is what it is designed for.
