Hi guys,
I'm currently a carpet cleaner but I'm considering a small window cleaning round just to supplement my income part time. My question is for those of you who use leaflet drops to build up your rounds. In the carpet cleaning business we can generally expect a 0.1 to 0.3% response to our leaflets (yes I know thats 1-3 in a thousand! ;)). Whats the expected response rate when you drop leaflets for window cleaning?
Many thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.
Cheers

JAMES:Ive had very good response up to 18-20% as low as 3% just been canvassing door knocking 3 new building sites with about 12 peeps moved in.
MY RESULTS WERE ASTOUNDING 8 NEW CUSTOMERS WITH 3 THINKING ABOUT IT 1 WITH A WINDOW CLEANER. ALL I DID WAS SHOW BOAT MY WFP ON SAT AT 11AM ON SAT. TRAD CLEANER 1 ME 4 NEW CUSTOMERS ;D

i've recently started up a round of my own. Got myself 135 customers so far from 10,000 leaflets. No knocking on doors just whizzing round delivering leaflets and chatting to the odd person that's outside their front door.
All of the areas i'm covering already have the odd window cleaner or 2 so it's well worth delivering in the older parts of town as well as new estates.
Good luck with it.

Jamie,
You can generally expect a 1 to 2 percent success rate with flyers.
So for every 100 you deliver, you should receive one or two calls.
In an estate, you can post 100 per hour, but maybe you should target some small rural villages first, as the estates are where all the new window cleaners (such as myself) started.

Hi All
The good thing about leaflets is that the level of responce is poor in areas with a window cleaner and good in areas without, so can be used to identify target areas. I have built 3 good rounds with the aid of leaflets. You (as a carpet cleaner) must remember that WC is a repeat business and that different people respond to different marketing methods. So leaflets are just 1 method and we should use whatever is available.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm kind of used to delivering leaflets myself, thats why I thought it my be a good place to start if I was going to branch out. ;)
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good example of a WC leaflet?
Cheers

I used Tosh's as a template (altered the wording slightly) being A5 you have 2 too a sheet and I had about 1-2% some calling weeks after posting but some on answerphone on my return home

Good advice.
More travelling time but generally bigger houses, better access, stronger networks and better money. If you price up properly (high enough).

I've only ever done new estates with leaflets. Response is always slow, hard to measure. But, say 100 houses, 2 or 3 call, then people start to see you.
My experience is that after about a year you end up with about 20 - 25 houses on average.
Keep up the blues harp Jamie! I've been playing since I was about 10. Now 52.
I should be a lot better than I am, not so good since heart problems, but I still make it sound mean or make it cry! Not many of us about. 8)

Just tried adding my leaflet to this message. Said something about it being the wrong type of file. Anybody give me some pointers on how to share my documents through this post.
Here's the general jist of my leaflet anyway
