Title: self cleaning glass

hi guys, one of my customers as just had a new conservatory fitted with self clean glass on the roof, i was told im not allowed to clean the 2 windows above it as its not allowed any other water on it apart from rain water. as any one else heard of this?

Custie has swallow the hook.Pure is better than rain water.Some folk are so gullible.

As posted above give it a while and you will asked to clean windows , I have 2 custys who have self cleaning glass installed one i clean every 4 wks windows are just as dirty .

And a large commercial new build which must have paid thousands more to have self cleaning glass now they pay me to clean them every 12 wks . Mike

I have always told them that if they have self cleaning glass, they will have to clean it themselves.

I've done mine (roof as well) with pure water and they're ok.

I hope the birds don't poop on it then as birdie poos are 90% water.

In my opinion its a gimmick ,i clean loads of conny roofs with so called self cleaning glass

im no expert on wfp, however, surely if you are spilling pure water on it (and no detergent) then it cant do any harm, have you explained that to the client or do they think you have detergent in the water??? Pure water is... pure water, thats going to damage any glass roof in my book  ???

thanks guys for your input... thought i was going nuts when i was told to leave it, i have clean other con roofs with this so called self clean glass on it and its done no harm, like you say "its pure water"

I wouldn't say it's a gimmick, it's definitely easier to clean. Just don't take the name too literally.
