Fancy trying my slx with a tap fitted to the pole. Have got the tap that Gardiner's use but wondered how they fit them to the pole. Anyone know?
-
I just used cable ties. I didn't get on with the tap. It is fiddly small and the push fit mechanism isn't very sturdy. I got through two in weeks because when the hose snagged on a shrub/step / whatever it would pop out and the spring thing would get lost.

Got a pic ?

I've put a gas tap in my clx, it's really sturdy
And I've put it on with duck tape as I couldn't
Get on with the cable tied slipping.
Works a1 ill put s pick up tomo mate.

look on pure freedoms site

seen it bob, thats a different tap though and comes with a bracket
-
gaffer tape it on.

I needed to remove my tap to get the pole in the pole tube so I use an 2 elastic webbing with Velcro on the end to fasten it on the pole,This elastic strap stays in the tap hose. AS far as the push fit tap from Gardeners goes you need to push the hose in hard and then try polling it out so it grabs and then rap tape around the tape and hose on both side of the tap.

I fitted gardiners little tap at the pole tip with the brush, it's been on there around 12 months and love it.. No noticeable weight added it's awesome!! Aqua been in the garage ever since..

I'm interested in all these ideas - could you guys all post a few pics - easier to visualise.

How do you turn off the supply when the pole is extended?
Do you have to wait until you lower it?

go go gadget arms !
-
Lower it or walk down the side and raise it.. Small price to pay than having an aqua to heavy and un balanced for me..

what benefit do you get with a ro unit on your pole >:(

I could of faced the otherway bump but didn't want you seeing my carp rods :) cause you wouldn't be going to work today.. You can just about make the tap out some where lol.

Avo re valve at brush head.
That seems a a very good compromise idea to have the shut off valve at the top. Ideal for when you first approach the house and when finishing.
Having that valve trailing on the floor just one meter from the pushfit male/female end of hose reel fitting seems a pain any way. And holding the hose and valve against the pole in your hand seems uncomfortable too.
I think your idea is good.

this is exactly how I have my poles set up.
saves bending down and hunting for tap which I still have for high jobs so open pole tap, extend pole then open 2nd tap but for day to day residential just use one tap on pole head.

Yes Paul it was the mk2.. Great idea bit to heavy and adds to much length to a pole when working closed.

Just a gas tap with 6mm hose talls on
No the best looking thing in the world but
Works well and really sturdy
-
Some actually say they like the extra reach(!) ...but they're things we're working on.
The Mk3 was lighter than yours and the Mk3L is lighter again, and solves a couple of other small issues: http://blog.aqua-dapter.co.uk/2012/10/the-aqua-dapter-mk3l-l-is-for-lighter/

Just turned a great looking pole into a bad looking pole..

Cable ties slip
Who cares what it looks like ???
Not me!
That tap cost me £5 and add no weight on the top end of the pole
It enables me to work faster and earn more money.
Easier to use than aqua adaptor and isn't mate from plastic
So wont break easy.
Oh did I did I mention it cost a fiva ::)
