I have a couple customers who have recommended me to a few friends/neighbours which is always good and I just wondered do any of you offer anything to your customer for any recommendations from them?
Maybe its good enough that they are happy to recommend you but maybe something in return may be appreciated what do you all think?

Thats what I was kind of thinking George maybe now im over thinking it!
Does anyone offer any incentive for customers to giver referrals?

I offer a free clean once the new customer has been with me for three consecutive months.
I had one customer who thought it was so good he went canvassing all his friends for me. He didn't pay for his window cleaning for a year and i got an extra £150 a month business from it.

I got recommended by a customer to her Daughter, when I went up to quote, I picked up a large house on race horse stud farm. Got the job and cleaned it last week, the customer came out and said would you be interested doing the two estate houses? Got them as well, the best recommendation so far. I cleaned her mother's house and waved the charge as a thank you, she was having none of it and insisted I take payment.

I second this. Most of our work has come from word of mouth and we have never found we needed to offer any reward. The moment you start this then it can open the proverbial can of worms.

We run an offer - customer recommends us to a commercial job eg work place, local social club etc ...
After 3 months of the new job being done and paid the customer gets credit of the value of the first clean in the new job they got us, so for example - they get us a £100 office block - they get £100 credit to use on additional services ie con roof clean etc ... Or just simply could end up using it on there window cleaning, so some customers could end up with a years free window cleaning ... Works very well!
For example - a house we do - put us in touch with a local chippy - £16 per clean - so they spent the £16 on having the inside of the conservatory done - the chippy owner ended up owning 5 c****y restaurants! - then his house needed doing - picked up the neighbours - he wanted his con roof cleaned - picked up there neighbours con roof clean to ... So it just goes on n on.

We used to do recommend us to 2 friends and if we get the jobs you get a free inside clean.
TBH we went through a phase of getting loads from this but we dont bother nowadays, were always chasing our tails so cant be doing FREE clean as well as other work

I did a first clean today for a lady who was so pleased that when I call next month she will have a list of family and friends for me to call on.
