im using a battery from a scrap yard at minute but its not lasting all day was thinking of getting a leisure battery and a split charger. I have alot of compact work i wondering do u charge up the night before. What leisure battery and split charger and battery charger do u guys use.
-
Numark 110 amp Leisure
Charge once a week - some say charge more but it's good to let a lot of the charge out and fill back up as it makes it last longer.
-
just get a van battery, leisure batteries are totally over rated from my experience with them.
-
I only charge my 85 ah battery every 2 wks . I dont use a split relay charger just take in house and charge . Got my battery charger from halfords for £40 . Mike
-
Running on an scrap yard battery £15 for last 6 months mounted behind the driver's seat.
Used to charge it up on slow overnight everynight .
Now seem to be getting away with slow charge all day Sunday and every 2 days on quick charge about an hour while I'm having brekkie!
I've extended the leads with the crocodile clips on from the Battery charger so I leave the charger in the garage and just run the leads out to the van so I dont have to remove the battery or use an extension to put the charger in the van.

would always recommend 2 of everything it is less stress on the kit also if one breaks you have a backup already in place.

Hi Tim
Im am by no means an expert only been WFP for 6 months but we run two reels of microbore 2 poles from 1 Sureflo pump and never had a problem so far. Sometimes have to boost the pressure first thing in the morning but then can turn it down on the Varistream Pressure 6 Flow 6 or 7 normally.

Defo better with two of everything, on the battery front I use a lithium ion 12 v for my pumps take in the house and charge every night only weighed 900g its just like charging a laptop battery and has 2000 charging cycles.
-
so if i put a 2nd pump in van do u have 2 pipes coming straight from tank
-
Split the one tank outlet into each pump, then into each reel/controller etc. I use 110amp leisure batts, and rotate every 3 days ish. Whilst ones working the other one is on constant charge with a ctek mx5 intel charger / conditioner, £55 ebay. good luck m

I bought a 110 amp leisure battery yesterday anyway the guy said its all charged up ready to be used anyway throught i just put it on charge last night so this morning put battery in van and the controller reads 12.7 VOLTS is this right the battery been ok all day got home throught see wot it say now it reads 12.5
-
Yes mate , 12.7 volts is the reading you will get when fully charged sometimes 12.5
I only charge mine about every 2 wks , When my reading drops to 11.7 , I charge mine you have not to let it drop anymore than that really as you can damage the battery . Mike

Thanks Mike
-
your welcome mate ;D ;D
-
when my 110amp battery is fully charged it reads 14.4v
-
14.4v sounds right for a fully charged car battery in good condition , wether its the same for a leisure battery im not sure....
-
Wherever you buy your batteries from avoid Tayna Batteries as a supplier. They are fine till there is a problem...
-
it is a leisure battery
-
I use the tracer battery by deben not cheap but reliable and easy to use.
