Title: Rotary
Post by: JandS on October 02, 2012, 01:37:59 pm
What's the best rotary speed for pre spray agitation
and bonneting?
Would 400rpm - 450rpm be too fast?

John

 :o :o

not really John if you don't over-wet the carpet with pre-spray... or leave the rotary in the same place for too long...

It may fling a bit to the side though...  Ideal speed is about half what you suggest...
IMHO

Cheers Hector I thought about 150/200 was about right.
Looking for second hand/refurbed on e bay but they all
seem to be 400+

Hi John

400 rpm is too fast, as Mark says 175/200,

They are much harder to find as there are less about.

Cheers

I'd highly recomend a standard speed Victor.

Alternatively, if only for agitating after prespraying an Envirodri (or similar CRB) is way better, as it lifts the pile too.

Either way, no harm in adding a standard speed Victor as it WILL come in useful.

John

I got a refurbished Victor Sprite 15" standard speed at A3 machines in Shropshire for £210, they had loads there http://www.floorcleaningmachinesuk.com/ (http://www.floorcleaningmachinesuk.com/)

Could be wrong think DF is 380rpm /TD (victor) 400rpm then the daddy 1725opm

We have both standard 400 and 150, 400 gets used more and more (if you are worried about centrifugal force put a skirt on it ;D ;))

JK is selling a 150 not a bad price

Standard speed victor is a work horse and A3 machines do good refurbs.

I picked one up off eBay with tank, polypropylene brush, drive board and two pads for £51, thought the guy was going to cry when he handed it over to me.

Am now the proud owner of a rotary.
Victor Sprite 450.
Starting with it as an agitator what brushes/pads would you recommend?
