Title: Jet sizes?
Post by: Luc on October 02, 2012, 12:07:59 pm
a couple of days ago i left my wand on a job 50 mins away from the one i had just turned up, dont ask me how but i just forgot  ::).
i managed to borrow one off my mate, a fellow carpet cleaner. the wand was a 4 jet westpack, very comfortable but heavier then my evolution wand. i looked at jets and was shocked to find 4 04 jets on it. ??? i run 4 015 on my 4 jet wand. Surely these jets are WAY to big? His answer was he preferred high flow jets. Do any of you guys clean with similar size jets?

Wow that's chucking some water down!  I have the same wand, fitted with '02s but I run my pressure down as low as 150psi using it - only for cleaning "clean" carpets really, I use a different wand for dirtier jobs.

Such big jet sizes may keep the heat better, as when you atomise water into particles, the smaller they are the more heat they will lose, even in the couple of inches between jet and carpet.

Where you get 01's from.
Smallest I can find is 015.

You'll find them somewhere, it's a very common size!  Haven't bought any for donkey's years but you can get plastic tee jets with a stainless tip insert - they last for ever.  I've got one in my hand tool that's been there nearly 10 years!!!!

A little bit of searching should at least find you the standard brass ones but I'd order twice asmany as your wand takes
