couple of showers up here today maybe on 10 mins then the sun came out, going into another street where I have 4 houses the first had a note stuck to the lounge window saying "don't clean today too wet" I was well miffed not to even have the common curtiousy to come & tell me face to face .
If I had a bigger round I would dump but it's stored in the memory bank >:(

Stick a note of your own saying - Thanks for your much appreciated concern but was already wet through.
-
Just dump now !!!!
They will only get worse ...
-
;D
I know it is hard when you start and you put up with it,
BUT there is nothing better than dumping when you can ;D just miss them for a few cleans and when they ask why, say because it was forecast for rain, they will either get the picture or not ;)

Ive only been going for 4 months and I have a zero tolerance policy !
You f**k me about I will dump you regardless !
If its raining or it's going to rain is no excuse for me
I can't phone virgin media up or t mobile or any of my other bills and say sorry I can't pay my bill it's been raining .
I don't care I only want regular reliable customers like they want a regular reliable window cleaner .
-
on a serious note, I don't lose many customers, but I have lost more due to me not being regular enough than to working in the rain, so with that knowledge I will try to be regular rather than a sunshine cleaner

On the flip side, you now have a customer where if you are a wee bit behind you just leave them til next time ;)

I had a custy like that she had a few windows on large bungalow at front the lounge window would be last one i would do which is were the note always was , so she used to get charged , ;D ;D ;D . Mike

if your currently building your round up and want to tolerate being messed around then thats fine but IMO even if you dont have much work I would still dump as you need regular decent custys not messers
It wont take you long to pick up a replacement custy ;D
-
if you have only cleaned a few times get rid
-
have a word with them explain how it works,if no joy then get rid and replace

Good tip, these sort of customers are just names on a list, useless really. We all get them, and some work with them. IMO, waste of time in the long run. I've tried educating customers, and in over 20 years, I can honestly say, better to replace than waste time with names on a list.

Every new flush of window cleaners we get the same questions.Dumping should only be the last resort as this cost you a loss of business before you can afford a loss.
The best way to solve its and this comes from many years in business and practiced by most businesses.
You will need to get down some terms and conditions. Most don`t do this because they do not have confidence it will deliver positive result.
How would you feel if you got into trouble if you did know what you did was not acceptable.
One does not need to make a big fuss of a letter just print them on the back of your slip you give them for payment or invoice. As a business you have the full right to state how you conduct your business.Run your business like this and people will respect you like a business.Dump! and you will be treated like the unprofessional window cleaner.Mimic and copy the professionals and you will get the respect you deserve.

Give them a letter of explanation, "How Water Fed Pole Cleans" leave them out next time and if they ask then tell them that because they have missed a couple of cleans, that it will have to be a "First Clean" and charge ! ;) ;)
You have nothing to lose, if you were thinking of dumping. ;D ;D

I have that effect on the ladies, too.

Best note I had was this....
Lazy student probably still in bed, knock loud and be persistent
Lazy sod was still in bed at 2pm

Thanks for all the replies troops, I'm going to give them one more chance after I have a word with them, it's a fortnightly clean so the next time I shall be charging extra like a first clean see how that goes down , if they don't like it bye bye
