so im thinking of relocating to halifax next year, im just wondering who off here is from halifax or surrounding area's?

I'm from Huddersfield but just finished working in Halifax for the last 11 years.
Like here it's crawling with windies but don't let that put you off I'm managing to survive and its not a bad place to live and a lot cheaper than down south!!! especially if you can get out somewhere in the Upper Calder Valley - Hebden Bridge (Lesbian capital of Britain they claim) or out towards Todmorden - really nice.

Halifax has a mix of good and bad areas just like anywhere else, I used to have a round on the outskirts in queensbury and I have never felt the cold as bad in winter time as it is the highest village in yorkshire !

queensbury looks decent (on google map street view) yeah no doubt the wind chill will be harsh to on high ground!
