Post by: 4S Cleaning on September 28, 2012, 08:29:16 pm
What times do you start on the glass in the morning.

I'm used to 7:30 starts in the factory I work in, but was wondering what start times windys had on residential work, & have you asked custys if it's ok to start at early o'clock ?

You soon work out the customers who go out early, so can do there houses first.

I like to start as early as possible, if I don't get a good start to the day it doesn't seem to ever get going.

If I didn't start until 10am I would barely have the enthusiasm left in me to do a days work.

We start at 8am on houses.
As our days stay the same them customers have no probs with the time. In saying that there are others that we know not to even bother turning up till later in the day!

For example we may call a customer and say "Hi, Andy the window cleaner here, can we get to you early tomorrow as we has a few issues yesterday and dint get to you"  We've then had the usual excuses asking to leave later in the day or "Yes thats no problem you can get to us any time after 9am"
9am!!!  Thats not early in my book!

I'm a bit more sedate in that I aim to be out 9.30 - 10am and done by 4.30pm or sometimes earlier. I also do a few on a Sat and Sun but not anything too strenuous. If it rains, I have the day or days off.

I used to do Mon - Fri and be out at 8am and work like a madman untill 5pm and not work at all at the weekend.

My sedate way of working earns me about the same amount of money but I'm less knackered and there's none of the stress of always trying to get to the next job as fast as possible.

Try and be on 1st job for 9am but will be dropping notes off to customers when clocks change informing them of our winter start time of 8am and if they're not up for us being there at that time to let me know.

Most people who work are out by 8 ish anyway esp if dropping kids off etc.

Prob finish by 4pm or earlier in the middle of winter when its gloomy by 3.30

May even stay at the 8am start come spring and summer. ??

Ask every single customer you get if they are happy for an 8am start.  Then you'll know and can fill your day from the outset.

Here in the emerald isle 9:00 is too early for most of my customers, so I tend to start at around 10:00.

Get to my first job at 9am most days. If I can get away with it I will turn up earlier. Starting on a farm tomorrow at 8am. Commercial 7am or 8am.
