Title: Must work faster.
Post by: andrew hamshare on September 27, 2012, 10:07:10 pm
I'm working fairly hard, gagging about in the mornings but working hard once I'm on the glass.

Bought a round recently and I need to speed up to get round all the new customers. Rounds in a right mess tbh.

Any insider tips appreciated

Got a lad helping and often one of us is stood watching. Doing up and down wfp and they are filthy.

I'm a fast learner imho so fire away.

stop the watching really. ;)
get each house in your head and how its gonna be done and stick to it/improve it,
fronts man does payment slip/collects then does all lower sills whilst back man winds in and wraps van up etc etc etc.

only u can see how to speed it up.  you just have to act on your ideas.

test 1 doesnt work so try step 2 etc etc

But I am used to working alone. How do I best split the work from the moment we arrive at a house.

It was dark when we finished tonight. Now that's just silly.

One do the front of the house... The other does the back and work towards each other...

I tried splitting the hose and used 2 poles but 1 was really poor flow. Too slow for a first clean where one needs powerful jets not a dribble.

A bit amateurish tbh, this new work came at short notice and was at a very good price. Will have paid fir itsekf within a month even at my pace.

I have a trolley system, carry 8 x 25l of water and my clx27 with aquadapter.

Yesterday I put a HozeLock Y connector inline and took my clx18 yesterday but the flow was v poor.

Where we did save time was loading unloading whilst the other cleaned.

Bear in mind that doing downstairs trad is not really beneficial as it wouldn't get all the crud out if crevices.

I've had a few ideas overnight which I will try today and feedback but please keep the tips coming.

really cant see the point in having a worker with you , maybe get another trolley then at least you can both work .

grab a back pack and another 8 containers if you can, at least your both on the wfp then, when I take my 2nd man out with me we used to do share the houses , one with the van mount and one with the trolley. but I'm sure it's quicker doing a house each, so now I drop matey down the road with the trolley, clean my house then retrieve him on the way to next patch of work

Yeah, you need 2 poles, 2 pumps. For 2 people.
I would get another trolley in your case and a few more barrels.
Call in a garage and see if they have any empty TFR barrels. They wash out OK.

Get a van mount.Big a tank as poss, two controllers, hoses, etch, set up properly for two man operation.

It's gonna be ridiculous trying to use two trolleys, IMHO
