Mike am sure if they all On the same google account it all helps in a small way! getting people to LIKE on FB is a different matter, I find that FB enquiries are not as highend as id get by PPC on Google.

I don't think there's any connection with 'likes' on you tube and seo on the website in the description.
I also don't think having you tube video embeded in your site will help its seo either, or at least not in any significant way.
That's from my experience, might be worth a try, if it was a you tube 'hit' .. maybe.
Are you going to do a Freddie Mercury song cover? ;D

Youtube likes are classed as "social" interaction (which is good at the moment). Since the Panda / Penguin updates, social signals have gained weight as they are (allegedly!) deemed to be more representative than backlinks and less open to manipulation LOL.
If your Youtube video is really popular and getting likes (lots of "social signals"), then the value of it's link to your site has to be of higher value than one from a video with hardly any hits and no social actions.
As for the relevancy bit, I cannot give you a definitive answer.
-
I would say no, because relevancy is important whereas in the past it probably didn't (even though they said it did) matter.
You could still drive traffic however, but you would want it to be relevant so that someones actually interested in what you offer (nothing to do with SEO) Like a local news story. Say a flood in Beverly for instance.

I'm making a video of the Burj khalifa ( the worlds tallest building, see Tom Cruise climbing it in MI-3) looking on youtube they are massively popular...... and they are crap
so though i would load a good one up and put a link in it to my website
-
Maybe you could make it relevant by calling it"Burj khalifa - Carpet Cleaning Megajob?" etc or something similar?
Put a raw link (http://www. ) back to your site and include carpet cleaning type wording surrounding your link in the description?
Talk about the tower and then say "imagine cleaning all of the carpets in this building" etc, etc.

Should we know about Panda /Penquin
Two of the most fundamental (ongoing) changes to Google's ranking system. Anyone doing any sort of web marketing should be totally aware of them.
Here's a list of recent ones (Panda actually started early last year)... http://www.seomoz.org/google-algorithm-change
