just to let some of you guys know ... i have a 300 gpd ro-man unit... had it 4 years without changing the membranes...
my water had always come out at 0.00 tds until the last few weeks, it had steadily rose to 00.7 even after changing filters.
Anyway, to my point... i think membranes are expensive in general, around £35 each...
but i have just bought 3 x 100 gpd memranes and all 3 filters for £81 quid with free delivery....
A bargain, was going to put a link up ... am i allowed?

of course you can, come on, don't be shy! ;) ;D ;D ;D
-
For 100gpd that is about right. Pure Freedom charge £22.80 per membrane and prefilters are quite cheap.

AH OK ....well its here anyway

lets just hope that they last as long as the orignals ;)

With membranes you get what you pay for.
RoMan once said to me that the best membranes to buy are made and imported from the States - the Korean units weren't quality products in comparison. Would be interested to hear how they perform.
The less efficiently they perform, the higher the cost in resin to polish the water off.
My last 3 x 150GPD membranes cost £47 each nearly 7 years ago from RoMan and only started to fail last month.

Spruce is your 150 membrane the same size as a 100 gal therefore using the same housing? If so were did you buy them.
-
yes they would be

Do you have to replace the restrictor when replacing membrane?

As Franky has said; they are slightly bigger but fit into the same housing.

I did. Got it from RoMan at the same time as I ordered the membranes. I had 80 GPD membranes originally and there was a big difference in production rates. It was a 3 to 1 ratio restrictor. In those days you also had the option of a 5 to 1 restrictor for high tds water areas.

Hi just to clarify .... the pure freedom membranes and 3 filters are £112.....inc vat...... the ones i got from the link above were £81
And i know about the quality of membranes, as i said the ro-man ones served me well,
but i shopped around for quality but cheaper.... sometimes you dont get what you pay for ... for instance .... X-tel poles vary in price massively.... but are exactly the same, so it pays to shop around.
The membranes are made in america by the way. ;)

Anyway , so far so good, my tds is 0.00 ... without resin.... have never used resin tbh. ;)

Excellent - then its looking good. RoMan said the Americans were the only ones who could make membranes as the r/o industry has been around there a long time.
