Sometimes you can have a break internally in the cable around where it enters the machine try wiggling this whilst switched on. If is broken you need to open up machine and cut off damaged section and re-connect or renew whole cable.

If I remember my Cheyanne, the wiring was all of a single live wire, this wire went into the first switch the all the other switches had a feed into this first switch.
if everything is dead I would think its the main feed wire, pop out the switches and look for a loose wire.

ok thanks for that,
the cable entering the machine looks good, but then it appears to go into a capicitor of sorts, about an inch in diameter, ny about 2 to 3 inches long,
it doesnt show up on the wiring diagram??

If you can undo the cable from the machine end, do that and attach it to a lamp fitting or something. Just to make sure. As they are coiled up you sometimes get internal breakages which eventually recede from each other breaking the circuit.

Bypass it, it does'nt do anything important, I took mine out it made no difference.

Obviously you wouldn't wiggle the wire if it is physically damaged. What happens is the internal wires snap and eventually burn back due to arcing. If you switch on an wiggle them you often get a sharp burst of power. If so you have sourced the problem. Alternatively you could send it to a repair shop and pick up a lovely fat bill.
Colour blind sparky....bloody hell

By the way, everyone should have an RCD on their equipment. Water and electricity don't mix. Used and tried loads over the years. Best ones from Wickes about 8 quid, very rarely pack in.

hi there
john
if we carry on the way we are we might have to spend some of our profits on better kit for this commercial work, and for the emergency stuff.
at present ive got 12 dehums and about 5 air movers on 4 sites, so its going well, and paying well. If we could just stick with this work, i'd be a happy man.

Ollie
its a "residual current device " or trip switch, if using any electrical equipment on commercial jobs I think you must have one ;)
