Where is the best place to buy tap connectors from, seems there are so many different shaped taps nowadays?

I used Hozelock for years and for years all my connectors leaked... then i went to Ebay and replaced all my hose connections...

The brand you need is called Claber...

got to admit ive never really had a problem with Hozelocks fittings.
