OK Folks,
Picking up from a few comments in previous posts. Can you nominate someone for good services to the window cleaning trade and say why you nominated.
In a week or so I will put up a poll with the nominees to decide who we should give a Window Cleaners Knighthood to.
:) :)

Arise Sir Gold for your ability to keep your customers well and truly in their place of servitude to you, also for your services to CIU in the comedy entertainment category.
Nah, skip the knighthood. Lord Gold sounds more like it. ;D

A guy called Rob who I saw on his ladder a few months ago after not seeing him around for a few years.
He was the first windie I bumped into when I very first started. I was doing a semi. He popped up on a ladder above the high hedge doing the semi next to it. I was new and dead slow and, although I didn't know it, was putting myself in danger. He showed me how to clean trad quickly, efficiently and more safely (as far as ladders would allow). Watching him work was like watching an octopus. I thought he was going to have a go at me for being on his patch. Instead, he showed me how to do it and when the rain hammered down an hour later, he took me to his flat and we had coffee and chatted. Top guy. At the time I had been window cleaning just long enough (without a mentor) to be getting p'd off with it and close to throwing it in.
So arise Sir Rob. If it weren't for you I could have been working in a factory the last 21 years.
I remem nice storber being wide eyed with amazement when he told me that I could actually earn £100 a day.
Someone took a little bit of time with me and totally changed the way I saw window cleaning.
very nice story :)

I think Jeff Brimble should be nominated; he's the one that really got light weight poles going; other people kinda nicked his idea and were better at developing and marketing them, but Jeff was the first to start experimenting with carbon fishing poles.
I'm pretty sure he also invented the flipfast too, but then someone else marketed and sold that one. :-X
So Jeff Brimble gets my vote. He changed the way we work.

Thank you. I don't deserve it.

The Ionics guy?
You're kidding right? Lets revamp old american idea's, push them in the UK, triple the prices of all the components, threaten legal action to anyone who uses the words "Reach & Wash" on their website /van signwriting, cause trouble with insurance companies about "unsecured loads" in order to sell more of their crash tested systems, and then lie blatantly in their "1000x better" marketing campaign for the PPB systems?????? That Craig???
