working today battling the wind, rain and hail and my aqua-daptor snapped(the actual body of the thing fell apart!!)so i decided to use outside pole hose with carbon gooseneck and sill brush.
WOW!the pole is MUCH LIGHTER,EASIER TO EXTEND and i soon got the hang of nipping the hose!(i use the aqua-daptor pole hose).its also very easy to change brush heads and goosenecks.
i have another mark 2 aqua-daptor that i may put on my pole but im loving the lightness of my SLX again!!so im gonna stick with this set up for now.
no noticeable slowdown in my work or water wastage!!and when i needed to stop the flow for a while i just disconnected the pole hose from my microbore.dead simple!!
cheers tosh!!
i have to admit i know why you work this way now!! :D :D :D :D :D
very best wishes

Slx with a aqua adaptor on would be like using a brodex with a 16 inch
Viking brush!! Waste of a good pole
Not for me mate! 8)
-
Not sure about hose outside the pole, but any flow control attached to the pole makes a difference, even attached to the bottom of the pole.

i always said to you daz that it was silly to add weight on top of a slx, so i was right too! ;D ;D
-
thing is i got used to the added weight of the aqua-daptor but it makes a very noticeable difference.using it without it for most of yesterday i found the awkward windows over connies/extensions etc were much easier to clean with less strain on my arms, the pole was more rigid and the closed length of my pole was more manageble(i use a 25ft SLX).
outside pole hose is not ideal but i soon found ways of nipping the hose at different points depending on whether i was extending or collapsing the pole.very easy to extend and i reckon the pole will last longer as no dirt is going up inside the pole.
i do like the aqua-daptor and i might go back to the other mark 2 i have but for now im gonna work this way and see how i go on.im working on a big estate of compact houses with a fair few awkward windows for most of this week.
im using carbon goosenecks(i have 3 of em)2 of em have sill brushes on and 1 has an extreme brush on.
ive not even tried the extreme brush yet with this set up which is even lighter than the sill brushes!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Daz,
try your pole with the hose inside, and still nip the pole hose at the base, as your used to reaching there to pull the a/d hose to turn off the a/d.
I use this method to stop the water between windows, but also have a push fit tap, attached to a caribina on my belt loop, via a key hasp, to turn the water off completely.
This way your not perminantly attached to the hose.
Also, get the extreme on your pole, youll find your working day so much easier

And why has tosh not replied to this thread ?
His head is now to big to fit through the door ;D ;D ;D

I stopped using the aqua 12 months ago for the same reasons "added weight" put it on about 3 weeks ago while trying out that g101 on a connie but took it back off again within 5 mins.. I always just use gardiner pole tap on the brush end and have done for 12 months it's great,I don't notice anymore weight over them deep extensions now.

dazmond the mk3 AD is noticably lighter than the mk2

That's ironic, its the only thread he hasn't commented on :-*

He's never gonna get away with the "modest" card is he :P :P
-
this morning i put hose back on the inside of my SLX and put my medium extreme brush with carbon gooseneck on.
WOW!!its mega light!!and rigid!!the only fly in the ointment was i got rained off at dinnertime!! >:( >:( ;D ;D ;D
nipping the hose was fine! ive soon got the hang of it!cant see me going back to the aqua-daptor now!!! :D :D :D
hopefully ill get a few good days in the rest of the week as im a week behind schedule.
best wishes to you all

Dazmond you put the aqua dapter back on yet.
I had a split in the hose last week so took my aqua dapter off, the pole is lighter but im wasting loads of water and time just order the mk3l monday can't wait to get it back on the pole ;D ;D

I've only just finished work and saw it you bunch of ruddy part timers. ;D
And if you say you saw me logged on earlier, that was me waiting for my tank to refill after we'd emptied it!
Anyway, my own experience with the aquadapter is that it was heavy, tempermental, and expensive (and I bought two of 'em). Both Wor Lass and myself prefer working with an external pole hose and without the weight at the end. It helps decrease the amount of dirt up the pole, raising and lowering the pole is easier - you just rest the butt of the pole on the ground - rather than have to hold it, it's very simple to nip any handy part of the hose, it's lighter, it keeps the short length of the pole short, less can go wrong with this method; and it's free.
Sorry aquadapter. :'(
-
no way!pole is much better without aqua-daptor!ive been using my 25ft SLX with carbon gooseneck and extreme brush for a few weeks now and its sooo much lighter, rigid.and the awkward windows are a real breeze to clean now!! :D :D :D :D
ive got used to nipping the hose.yes i waste a little bit more water but the benefits of a lighter top end outweigh it to be honest.
i might change my mind though when it gets icy as ill be trying to minimize any water being left around that could freeze.
i use the orange aqua-daptor hose which is the best pole hose on the market IMO.
BEST WISHES

Sorry aquadapter. :'(
That's OK Tosh :),
You (and dazmond) have only used the heavier Mk2, and we're 2 models lighter now with the Mk3L available.
I think the person you sold them too said they worked fine with no leaks, so not sure why you had a problem with that.
We're still getting excellent feedback from our customers, so you can be happy with your method (are you still using our hose?) and we can be happy using Aqua-dapters ;)

whats the difference between the mk3 and the mk3L?
-
http://blog.aqua-dapter.co.uk/2012/10/the-aqua-dapter-mk3l-l-is-for-lighter/
They're not major differences (which is why they don't get another version number) but hopefully we're moving in the right direction.

I always used the aqua adaptor, loved it, never thought ie'd go back to pinching hose, or tap connect, until that is i got my extreme !!, wow so light, i thought i've paid all this money for this pole, why do i then want to add weight to it again, so aqua's been in shed since. john.

Also a Mk2 JP?
