Title: Transit van leaky fuel pump
Post by: Ian101 on September 08, 2012, 01:58:55 pm
Had a minor leak under van for a week or so but only the odd drop here and there.

Thought it was an oil leak so took it to a mates garage to take a look this morning.

Not oil leak but fuel pump leaking from the back of pump.

Gotta go back Monday for price.

Anyone else had this problem and what did it cost to get sorted ??

Hi Ian, I've had the same problemwith my old van.  It sounds to me like the selenoild on your fuel pump needs looking at, the job is usually about £3-400.  If you leave it, it will be a fuel pump replacement the cheapest I managed to get this done fore was £800 from a guy near Preston.

Hope this helps

turns out to be just an oil leak from front of sump .... bodged it for now with some gooey stuff that goes hard.

front of sump a little crusty but not too expensive to sort !

Luck man Ian.   Keep an eye out for what I said, it's a common fault on trannys.
