Anyone heard of pure water being used to de ice planes ? Apparently Airports use the water for de icing during winter

Water being used to melt frozen water......................interesting concept.
I have heard that pure water melts clothing and can turn your hair green, so maybe there is some truth in it?

Yes its used but with chemicals ,don't understand the science but apparently the minerals ice quicker in untreated water.

I think its a non-urea solution

apparently they also use pure water for making ice hockey rinks in canada
