Clean It Up

Hi guys, I'm currently studying for my tree surgeons tickets and whilst chatting to a climber friend the other day the subject of window cleaning popped up.
He mentioned that he also worked as a windy before getting into the tree's, I asked if he'd ever thought about cleaning from the ropes, he said that whilst he was working as a windy his firm refused to fund his tickets so he decided to quite and pay to do his tree courses.
He tells me that the qualifications are different and that although he's fully ticketed to climb he's not qualified to climb and clean, different tickets apparently ???
So I thought I'd see if any of you guys could advise me.
