got a pure freedom trolly which i have not used for over 12 months went van mount. going to put the trolly in the van to make it a 2 man setup. going to connect straght to the tank so there would be no strainer just wondered if it is essential and if so where to put it. dont really want to strip it down. thanks in advance.

You've been lucky mate.
Best to fit one.
Purefreedom do one with female 1/2 inch BSP to screw on the pump outlet
And a male 1/2 inch BSP to screw a hozelock male coupling on

could always put a splitter after the strainer and before the pumps

Don't use a strainer, simple cut a piece of a plastic flour sieve and put it in with the washer of the hoselock connector.

thanks for tips appreciated

I'm happy with gardiners brushes. :)
I only did this as I had loads of issues with strainers not fitting well and sucking in a bit of air etc.
