as per the title really.
now does using 000tds offer any advantage to carpet cleaning.
i ask as it strives to return to an impure state and would be recovered via extraction.
im setting up a seperate business carpet cleaning and getting some insight into its process.
my preference is this on offer at £1900 plus vat. plus bits etc : http://www.amtechuk.co.uk/shop/Powr-Flite_PFX1085Max_Perfect_Heat_Mid_Size_Black_Max_Extractor-pid-175.html
i just wondered if the pure water would offer any advantages to cleaning process?
your thoughts/opinions on pure water carpet cleaning and opinions on my choice of machine would be greatly appreciated please

The advantages for window cleaning are obvious, but for carpet cleaning I would say not.
I used to work for a water treatment company which produced "pure water" (RODI). The water production in the quantities needed for carpet cleaning would be very expensive for little beneficial return.
Theoretically, pure water could have the following benefits:
No scaling up of truckmount machines and tools
Removes chlorine and other impurities that could affect (wool) carpets
Ensures working at a neutral pH
Water will have predictable reactions with chemicals due to neutral pH and ionisation (not deionised water)
No residues
Marketing with an eco message
But all this is theoretical. The concentrations of chlorine and other contaminants are so low as to make no difference to using tap water. Those of us in hard water areas know the cost and inconveniece of limescale, especially when using a truckmount, but there are other cheaper and quicker ways of dealing with this problem.
Great question though and if anyone can make a good case for it I will be very interested.

i think there is a benefit from using it with a cleaning solution such as nemesis or mpower.

Unfortunately not, i also have a pure water window cleaning business and have tested this on a 80/20 wool carpet using microsplit and there was no recognisable difference in feel or cleanliness.

however with nemesis and m power being coloidal and not m/s
I believe that it should work better as the coloidal will have nothing to try to clean before it gets onto the carpet.

I don't think it makes much deference but there's lots of marketing bollox mileage in it.
No heavy metals in our water.
We use less detergent because its soft water
Soft water means softer carpets.
