Title: block of flats
Post by: Lee GLS on August 20, 2012, 09:30:10 pm
ive been asked to quote for the windows on a small complex of flats which is fine, but they have also asked ive if can quote for internal vacuum of the carpets.

there are only 9 flats so there isnt much to do, gowned floor has shops, so there is an entrance with stairs leading to first and second floor and then the hallways of the first and second floor, and a dust an polish of the window sills ect.

i have no idea what cleaning contractors charge for this sort of thing, you help would be much appreciated.

They usually charge by the hour for this Lee,

That's where it starts getting super competitive on the hourly rate,

Dean.

We have some common way which do every 2 weeks and our charge is between £25-£30 per visit.
Dont forget if you charge £12-£15 there wont be much left after tax and expenses. so you have to make some profit.

I would contact a cleaning company take them along for the quote and sub out the carpet vacuuming, they will work quick and at a low price

Cleaning is becoming a larger part of my business and I will not take on any work under 20 quid an hour.I need to do work were there is a profit and I don`t need to work at small margins, when all parties make more than me.

there is another option, contact a cleaning company pass on all details with your price for windows and let them worry about payment etc, just invoice the windows and let them worry about being paid ;D

easy peasy .. sounds lile a quick job .. are you 2 up as this can be done last as one guy puts poles / reels away etc.

Easy £15 to £25 quid.

If they get another cleaning company in to quote they may also do windows and end up giving a quote for the lot  :o :o :o

Why?

It gets no easier than a simple vac & wipe.    Why would you risk introducing another firm to your client. You'll also have to ultimately manage the subby so for this job this is just not something to even consider.

As others have said, based on what Lee says this is max an hour added to site time.

Just buy a nice new Numatic NRV220-22 and your away.
