Thanks.

local paper is the best start.. why buy if you got a month to learn to clean and canvess you can get enough to start. keep canvessing and in no time you will have a good round. there can be problems taking over someone elses round. any help contact me

Sometimes you see rounds in the paper but i would not buy as its easy to canvas and build your own. If you worked for 6 hours a day and canvassed for 2 you would get loads of work door knocking.

I wouldn't bother buying a round. I started about a year ago with 12 customers in my spare time. since then I have finished my job to work for myself and have more work than I can handle all through word of mouth.

i have looked everywhere in my area and cant find nothing. id like to know where too.

We advertise loads of rounds but its worth typing window cleaning round for sale and your area in Google too.
If you can't find a round and need work you could always advertise on there that you are available for subcontracted work.

Ive been starting to canvas in the last week im delivering leaflets at the moment, ive delivered about 350 to date and not had a call i dont really fancy door knocking at the moment, but i may have to start doing that soon.I have put an add in a local parish magazine that goes out to 5000 house's it only cost me £12 and it's sent out each season so im quite confident that may do some good as last season there was no other window cleaner advertising in there.Ive been doing an odd few w/c jobs for a few years now im confident at doing the job, but i think door knocking is the way but im not that confident at the thought of it.

how old was this post. :o :o :o :o :o

i will build a round for less than buying one......
Hi George do you ever get up Lancashire way? I may be interested in your services. Can you let me know a little more about your service and charges.
Thanks. :)

There's no other window cleaner advertising in there because the outlay cost is usually higher than the return, not because they haven't thought of it.
For leaflets, depending on need in the chosen delivery area, you'll probably on average get 1 job for every 400 leaflets, that seems to be the response rate at the moment.
You'll do LOADS better canvassing. Face the fear, we're all nervous at doing it, even the experienced. People don't bite, they sometimes look wary when they open the door but 99.9% of the time as soon as you mention why you're knocking they lighten up and realise you're not a salesman as such. A lot who say they already have a cleaner will even say sorry that they couldn't help. If you stumble on a needy area you'll get almost one after the other, a great feeling. Get out there and face that fear, it's worth it.
I'm just off out canvassing for a couple of hours now, and a bit nervous, but I know once I get going I'll be ok.
