Title: Van damage
Post by: Lee Burbidge on August 14, 2012, 09:17:50 pm
We all have insurance/fleet insurance. If an employee damages your van, should you repair the dent and possible replacement of van livery through the insurance company ( a rise in an nail insurance should follow) or get the employee to pey for it......

i made the mistake of not looking into my employees past before letting him drive.  ok hed got a clean licence but a real hidden history of frauds and being a crook.

i recommend you look into an employees past before giving him/her the van keys

whats in your contract of employment ? unless it was malicious damage where they attacked it with a sledge hammer
then that is why you have paid insurance surely ?

an accident is just that AN ACCIDENT nit a deliberate attack on you and the company ( assuming you are a fair and decent
boss - otherwise you probebly deserve it  :P )

no different to other equipment poles break - brushes wear out - vehicles get bumped - all part of life and a good
biz should be able to cover these things

Pretty sure you cant get employee to pay for it. its an accident. Either do it yourself or go through insurance it depends on how bad it is
