Title: how much to repair these vauxhall combo

i have popped my van in to main dealer today to diagnose fault on my van coz had loads of diesel sitting on top of engine block and leaking burning fuel and smoking

they have come bk to me saying need to replace diesel injector seals, leak off pipes and fuel pipes all in with diagnostic test £317 is that right or bit steep

Bang on for a main dealer,injectors are not cheap anyhow.

Hi
I've got a Vauxhall combo so this is of interest!
Injector seals put up with an incredible amount of pressure.
Petrol engine compression ratio is normally about 9:1 inection happens well before maximum compression at Top Dead Centre.
Diesel 15:1 but with no spark plugs the injectors pump the fuel in almost at TDC.

People think we're only window cleaners but the C%%p we go through just to keep it all running.
Hope it goes well - got quoted £129 for a leisure battery and £40 for a charger how many windows am I gonna have to clean to make that? ???

to be honest im sure main dealer wouldnt rip me off i just wanted to know if price was sounding right i aint got a clue not had to replace these parts before on any vehicles

Don't use a main dealer...

Just go to a good garage and save some money.

It doesn't sound too bad that richy for a main dealer. You can have alot of problems with the head of the engine if you don't know what you are doing with the injectors by stripping the threads. I'd still try a decent garage though as It could just be a leak off pipe which would cost a tenner tops rather than the seals and fuel pipes.

Ritchie, you are sure a main dealer wouldnt rip you off? as someone else said just go to a good garage, a main dealer will onehunred per cent rip you off bud

i know jeanette ian from cleaning the showroom im gna complain anyway coz its in till friday now coz they never rang me yesterday to tell me what was up so it delayed getting parts by a couple of days so gna ask them to knock the diagnostics price off iv had to chase them this time bit peed off usually been really good well jeanette is
