I was looking on Alltec Site the other day and downloaded a Cat. as its being rebuilt
But I saw a fast dry fan which claimed to dry a room in 15minutes
I think it was about £400 including VAT . May be similiar to whay Amtech Sell
I have air movers but never felt they do job while I am there.
But 15 minutes great for me
Bought products in the past and have found Alltec somtimes gets carried away and oversells
I just want the facts if I invest £400 will in dry most rooms and carpets in 15minutes.
Do not want if air temp ambient etc etc

Have you got a link?

Ian, your talking about the whole room dryer I think.
I have one for sale if your intrested?
It wont dry the carpet in 15 minutes unless you've barely wetted the carpet.
It would have to be on the carpet for atleast 45 minutes i'd say to dry it to a reasonable standard.
Size of room, type of carpet and the weather will also play thier part.
Good for multi room jobs where you can leave it in a room while your cleaning another one.

They are humungously big and heavy aren't they? I see quite a few being sold on, tells a story..... Performance-wise, with a big fan pointed straight down at the carpet you'll get a circle about 6ft diameter bone dry in that time but as you get further out from the radius of the fan it'll be less and less dry... obvious really!!
Far better to spread air flow over the surface and get all of it a bit drier, rather than a dry circle in the middle of a carpet that's mostly still wet. Also it will really only be effective in an empty room, as furniture will disturb the air flow.
When drying's an issue I use 1 or 2 air movers depending on how many rooms, I put one on the carpet straight away after the first section is extracted and just work them back so each bit get a blast. If cleaning a whole house I'll have one upstairs and one downstairs, can normally get most of the carpets touch dry or near enough without sitting twiddling thumbs afterwards.

You need to eat another weetabix in the morning ;D No heavier or cumbersome than a rotery or CRB that everyone seems to use. :-\

out of curosity . why u selling it carpet dawg . are they worth buying
-
I'm not sure about Jim's thoughts on the whole room drier I have one it is a bit big but dries carpets slightly faster than a snail drier on upholstery I'd say snail dry faster, ashbys do the best ones but they don't last long probably Chinese.

lol shaun my machine is chinese . 160 psi and twin vacs . bought for 450 and its done me proud this past year . made a lot more part time than the machine and sebo duo ever cost although i do take your point about chinese stuff . especially motorbikes.

looking at these whole room driers . u could get a big powerful fan and whack some stainless round it . turn it upside down on legs and u got a whole room drier
-
I have no problem with Chinese products they usually are cheap but they just don't last as long, ashbys sell the most powerful turbo drier but it just doesn't last I'm on my 3rd.

dont mean to sound rude shaun as u got a million years experience but why did u buy even a second one if they dont last long ;D
-
jim i dont doubt what your saying about the 6 ft thing as i bet youve tried and measured it to the exact mm . what if the six ft and more was bone dry but it was all the taffic areas where the family are going to be walking on . is that not better than drying the whole carpet a little bit .might be my inexperience here but that makes sense to me ;D

Too lazy too take it out the van to be honest. I also have a couple of snails that I rarely use that I want to sell to make room.

How much you looking for the snail blower, I could do with another one ?
Regards

I bought 1 then after a 18 months it broke then I bought 2 thinking that the first one was just a bit dodgy and I had dropped it but I've now got another one 6 months old that's knackered, they are far more powerful than anyone elses but just rubbish quality I'll be looking elsewhere next purchase my wrd is relegated to the garage for spare its too big for my liking ;D

If they dry a room in 15mins it had better be empty, otherwise you will have to get your hoses out again. Even with a powerful snail you have to be careful, but you have some control and they are versatile.
I'd buy two ashby 1.5 snails and use them with discretion.

And I just LM clean.......
so don't need all these snails and puppy dog's tails stuffs :P :P
-
Don't tell anyone on truckmounters this, but I did a bonnet clean job the other day Hector, I was thinking of you the whole time ;D
Dan, the danger is if they feel a bit in the middle dry and then go putting things with wooden feet back on the carpet round the edges..... call backs for furniture stains.
A carpet isn't dry until it's all dry, just drying the middle bit and leaving the outsides wet is a bit silly! Mind you I'm saying this from the point of view of a TM operator where drying times aren't really too much of an issue. Dry quickly or really quickly!
p.s. it's actually 1828.8mm not 6ft ;)

Hi I am out of Action at present just about to go and have my Stem cell Harvest for my Bone Marrow replacement
Just trying to plan my return with some updated toys. But if they are hard to move might not be suitable as I have lost strength so not even sure about my return unless I can find a good strong Woman
