Title: tds 320
Post by: WES on August 02, 2012, 09:12:39 pm
320 out of tap, running through pure freedom 300gpd with 10inch di vessel. Can't get it at zero anymore even with new resin.
Out of RO is 52 then through DI coming out around 5. Help please.

Have you changed the pre filters lately,
Also whats the water pressure.
What readings were you getting when it was new

Yep pre filters changed. Not sure on pressure but if I turn the tap so its really low pressure the tds reading goes down slightly.

id look towards the di vessel because resin should make water of any tds 0

i had the same problem, i was using the little 750ml vessel and it stopped working. it was the seal on top of the cartridge inside. If you using that i`d quickly think about getting a bigger vessle say 11ltr

I agree, a larger di would be more user friendly, but its not the problem.
If youve got a tds of 52 coming out if the ro, it means the ro is the problem.
I would buy new good quality membranes, and replace

I recently was in a similar situation, water was coming from my RO at 49ppm and then using a lot of resin from my small 1 Litre vessel going down to 2-3ppm

I changed the prefilters and the membrane, now my water comes through the RO at 8ppm and the DI gets it down to 0 and uses a lot less resin.

Sorry to add this a little bit late, but it sounds like the RO Membranes may need changing, IMO :-[
