Ben,
canvassers who are selling services to window cleaners normally ask for 2 cleans , sometimes less but 2 is the most.
dont forget customers cancel or become one offs so take that into consideration if you are striking a deal with one,
and be carefull of unrealistic guarantees just think if you would be able to offer what you are asking for and then you have your answer.
try and take a small amount first wait till the 2nd clean then see how you feel if it worked well for both of you then maybe re use.,
dont get too excited on the first load customers will be smiling and over the moon you just removed maybe 2 years of dirt for a tenner so just wait and see what you got left on the 2nd clean, dont presure the customer into monthly or question what he wants you never really know till you have there money in your hand, you might need to call some on the 2nd clean to find out try not to get stressed out too much it is what it is a one off others will stick , and you will find out where you are.
good luck m8t
hope this helps.
oh , you should canvass yourself a bit too , gives you an idea of your area, going rates , etc etc, im sure you may already have but there you go!
and also you cant beat the customers you cancel yourself because you will see price and meet, the other side of the coin is you will pick up less cos you will be too carefull!

Ben
I have tried a few canvassing companies and even employed my own.
The best way to get new customers in my opinion is to just employ leaflet droppers and pay a set amount per 1000 and bonus for all work gained from the drop.
These customers seem to last longer

How much would you pay per thousand ?
Do you use a tracker ?
-
I pay £15 per 1000 and they all are on tracker

tracker? can you explain please?
what is a tracker?

I pay £15 per 1000 and they all are on tracker
Interested why someone would work for £15 that must work out at £4 an hour if you drop 250 an hour

I think you need to pay at least 50 + per 1000 to get them actually delivered, and not binned !

I pay £15 per 1000 plus £10 per sale, because I offer 4 different cleaning services the sucess rate from 1000 leaflets works out that they will earn between £50 and £75 per 1000.
The ones who are the most keen are from poland, she started 2 weeks ago and started off with dropping 1000 leaflets which I paid her £15, she then had another 2000 and when I dropped them off I paid her the bonus of £20 which has so far come off the 1000 leaflets, so far she has delivered 4000 and she wanted another 4000 yesterday, she is getting some polish friends to help her now.
So far out of the 4000 leaflets I have had 15 enquiries and 10 sales, normally the majority of the calls don't start coming for at least 3 to 4 weeks after they have been dropped.
Another guy started off today and he has already got his 1st sale, a nice £22 per month house.
as for the leaflets being binned, well I do have a tracking device they carry which shows the route they have walked, including the start and finsh times, but it comes down to trust, I trust them to deliver and they trust me to pay the bonuses, I do, which makes them wanting to deliver more.
Like Lee I am dropping loads and I want even more to be dropped on a regular basis over a very long period.
