Title: Prowler servicing

Hi Chaps

I have a 2010 prowler and i am planning on changing the oil on the blower, i have been recommended "Royal Purple 75w90"
Does anyone know how much oil the 33 blower takes?

Also can anyone offer some useful advise on general maintenance and things to watch out for?

Its like filling up a gear box on a car. You fill till it comes out the drain.

Russ I don't know if you got all the manuals with the machine but if not you can download them from the manufacturers website. Thats Roots, Hypro and Honda.
If you are changing the blower oil then you need to undo the lower plug which is right on the bottom. This will drain off the oil, also open the top vent and filler obviously.
The fill level is the lower of the 2 plugs on the side, the one on the right as you look from the back. So you drain, put the bottom plug back in, remove the lower side plug and fill with oil until it runs out of the side hole. Put the side plug back in and pull the starter cord a few times then check the level again and is needed top up until it runs out of the side hole again. Thats it.

I dont suppose you know how much oil the blower requires? the Royal Purple oil which has been recommended is £35 a quart which is just less than a UK litre.
I have all the manuals but the roots manual might as well be written in Chinese!
I was told to also grease the blower using high temperature bearing grease, please could you advise how to do this.

  Russ, regarding the grease you just need water resistance grease, get from a boatyard. I use Morris K99. You will need to get a grease nipple gun (halfords). On top of one side of blower the are two grease nipples just attach gun and grease until you see grease seeping out from below. Do this every day.

As for the blower oil i use Aeon PD. http://www.gardnerdenverproducts.com/blowers/lubricants_aeon_pd/
