Title: Made me laugh anyway
Post by: Neil Williams on July 20, 2012, 09:35:19 pm
Wednesday:

Priced up living room , stairs and hall. (bulk standard house btw)
Talked through the process etc then dropped the price on her of £95 and that the earliest I could do it was next Friday at 2pm.

Responce I got...
"Oh do you think you'll get all that done in an afternoon?"

I nearly pmsl  ;D

I know, it's the rope pull start on the TM that is doing that ;D
Must get one those magic electric start thingies, and wip the wife harder to pull out all that 2 inch hose.
TBH if it takes 1.5 hours I'll consider that taking it easy ;D

Neil, how are you finding the increase in productivity? Are you wishing you made the change ages ago now? Would you go back to a porty?

I'm extremely organised on jobs so was quite quick even with the scorpian, the key to quickness now as far as I can workout is (1) not having to run out 3 electric cables and (2) not having to go out to the van every 20 minutes to drain off the waste tank.
Would I go back to a porty? As a rule No, although I've kept the scorp as a useful backup and there will still be some jobs which would be more suitable to a porty.

I sometimes get 'will it take you a couple of days' errr no about an hour actually ;D

Had a woman call this morning asking me for a price to clean a 30ft x 12ft lounge but will it take all day like the last guy and I don't want it wet through like last time, wtf was he doing all day?

It's whip by the way not wip >:( and it would be nice not to have to run down the pavement like a wailing banshee trying to start the beast with the rope pull, whilst you chase me with the whip ;D
As for pulling out your 2" hose........ :o

Close Jim move the decimal point and add a bit ;D

Just had a guy on the phone who was willing to pay £180 for a carpet to be cleaned but only wanted to pay £50 for a 3 seater and 2 chairs to be cleaned that did make me laugh.
