Hi all
How many of your customer give you more than you ask / quote for?
Got a few that always give me a quid or two extra.
I don't think that it's because the job is underpriced.
Obviously they're really nice people to do something like that.
Maybe the job is underpriced - but they must feel they are getting value for money if they want to give that bit extra?

I had a lady increase her price from £12 to £14; she said I'd not put my price up in a few years. It really is only a ten minute job.
I think what happens is that in the past they've lost a good window cleaner; they've just stopped turning up; and if they like you, they'll try to win your favours by giving you more than you ask. It keeps you indebted to them, so you'll keep on providing the obviously excellent service you're providing.
And remember, the customer does not only pay for their windows to be cleaned, they're paying for the tradesman they like. We use a certain plumber, not because he's cheap, but because we trust him.

I had one put herself up from £20 to £25 on Friday. Was a little taken aback.

Reminds me of when I was a rep in sales boss who BTW sold business for millons but started out selling hacksaw blades and emery cloth from his garage said "People don't buy our tools from you because they are the best" - "They certainly don't buy our tools from you because they are the cheapest" -"They buy them from you because they like you!"

In answer to the original question I have one custy that keeps putting her prices up. Out of fifteen house fronts charged at £6.50 to £8, hers is a tenner.

Last week had 2cleans go from 8 to 4 weekly(one at£35 ,one at £24)
I love these customers but sadly few and far between

Quoted a medium block of flats 3 storeys at a bargain £110 and the manager refused insisting I charge him £150. Tbf, I did bribe him with the offer of a packet of bourbon biscuits. I always carry a packet of biscuits to have with my customers. I have to refuse quite often otherwise I'd have to p in my boab (bog on a belt).

i clean a little office front and its been £17 for at least 3 years. she said 'you really need to put this up' so i thought great, bring her the bill next month and i've upped it to £19. she looks at it and said 'can you not make that £22?'. really made my day!
