seen one for sale on ebay with poles, everything inc, is 1200w powerfull enough for occasional domestic use

umm..depend how cheap I suppose.  I bought a 1400w and have used it today on a block of flats. 'Hanging Gardens of Babylon' sprang to mind.  It really was hard work especially with 30 feet of pole.  I spoke at length with Mark at guttervacumsystems and as a result I am going to buy a 3000w machine.  He was saying that his can lift a house brick from a flat roof, my 1400 wouldn't and that's probably why I'm in bed now at 9:15 with very achey arms! ::)
