Title: cats pee on a leather sofa
Post by: creighton foyle on July 13, 2012, 05:55:41 pm
i went to look at a cream leather sofa today where the cat has used it as a toilet on more than one occasion. the actual leather is ok but its the filling inside the cushions thats the problem. the urine has got into the cushions via the underside where there is no leather. these cushions have zippers so i can take the filling out and i am thinking that i might saturate them and leave them to soak in a solution of nemesis overnight and then take them to the laundrette and put them through a wash and spin cycle before leaving them in front of a snail blower to dry , i could then clean the material part of the covers using hwe and clean the leather with a foam cleaner (ltt leather).

the only other problem i have then is the base of the sofa frame which is i assume a similar type of foam covered in a lining material which i am thinking of hwe and then again saturate with nemesis and dry off with a blower.

just like to know how you would attempt it and if you think my approach is on the right lines or way off the mark.

Em Clean will be best to use on both fabric and leather areas.  Kills bacteria and is safe on leather and fabrics and as it kills the bacteria will also deodorise.

Hope this helps

Have fixed a few piddly problems on leather with em clean, it is pretty good!  One was the customer's sister in law who was stopping over the night, got drunk and fell asleep on the micropigment sofa where she woke up in the morning with wet pants!

allow fresh air to all areas where possible might take a few days
