Afternoon all,
Does anyone use a one of these floor polishers to clean hard surfaces like concrete such as the one used below. Only if they work as well as this one then this would maybe make a good alternative for jobs done indoors like garages, warehouses and kitchens.
Obvious advantage if they work well, would be that you could work whilst the near area is still in use, low noise and smaller footprint. Plus less overheads on equipment and fuel etc etc.... maybe opens up other areas of jobs like stripping the surface of old coating's and poishing etc etc.
What are the pros and cons of such a system, ideas on offering this in addition to pressure washing????

I've got a Challenger (www.challengerop.com) which is good for carpets and tile & grout but not heavy enough for much else.

It depends on what kind of surface you want to clean.

well I'm comparing those surfaces that would otherwise be done with a pressure washer, so surfaces like concrete such as those found in workshops and garages. What about patios made with flag stones of different stones, assuming there relatively flat one of these machines would work right or not? I guess irregular surfaces may not work so well??
What I'm trying to get at is could these machines do work that the customer may find more favourable to a pw because there's less inconvenience in having it working whilst the premises are open, i.e. less area cordoned off, no spray, less noise etc. Also, its an inconvenience having us round when the premises may otherwise be closed!
I'm intrigued cos I think there maybe some crossover here!!

I recently cleaned a Jepsons alloy wheel referb unit that was to be changed into a show room. The steps were:-
Spray with high ph cleaner & dwell
Rotary with a black pad & remove slurry
Pressure wash with hot
Fill
2 coats of epoxy
There are jobs that may suit a rotary but I think that these are limited to inside and maybe just outside where the soiling is limited. For exterior rotary jobs the brush has to be very stiff and the machine very heavy - note on the video how much weight it carries. I also have a wire brush board for my rotary.
Maybe just another tool in the kit
