Title: Do You Smoke? Do You Want To Quit?
Post by: richie on July 11, 2012, 01:13:48 pm
Hi Guys,

I am sure some of you smoke and have tried to give up.  Well how do you fancy giving up once and for all.  A friend of mine (ex carpet cleaner) has set up a new company selling e cigs.  Kevin the owner of the company smoked for some 35 - 40 years.  Over the past 18 months he has purchased many different gadgets to help him stop smoking and he said all were crap.  Now he has found a solution that really works.  Kevin smoked 40 - 50 fAgs a day and since been on these e cigs he has not gone back to smoking (20 weeks without a fAg) and still going strong.

Check out his web site.  His prices are the cheapest i have seen and the products are the best on the market. Im going over to see him next week to get a starter kit myself.

I gave up when I left high school.  :-X

Didn't have no fancy gadgets to help you stop back in '59

Having no money helped a lot.  ;D

I didn't know you were allowed to say "f*gs"  :-[

 :-*

Ooh. I see, you can't.  ;)

iv'e been smoking 20years since i was 10 nicking fAgs out of me mums packet lol i'm in the process of quitting now using Champix i get them from the smoking cessation service on prescription and they work the best i have ever tried when quitting and iv'e tried everything even the e-cigs which i think are crap and break willy nilly and that still make you have the habit of smoking were with champix there just a tablet in morning and nite they block the receptors and make smoking no joy just phone the nhs no smoking line and get appoinment  just pay the prescription loads better.

They do work, but can have terrible side effects, and not everyone can take them.. People with mental disorders (could be anyone on here then  :P ) such as depression etc can react very badly to champix, however it does work and is a lot cheaper to the NHS than paying for someone to have the quickest and best treatment, which is proved to be hypnotherapy...  ;D ;D

your right hector hypnosis is the best way . i done a course with jonathan chase 5 years ago . dont do much now except instant inductions at partys for peoples entertainment but i think the problem is that the industry is not regulated in any way . why would the nhs throw money at something that someone can learn in a few days and call themselves a professional and have letters after their name that mean nothing . what the industry needs is a university course that is officially recognised . how many hypnosis associations are there ??? hundreds . not knocking you at all hector but they need one official uni course and one trade body . good luck with the cds. rant over

I fully agree with you Dan... Jonathon Chase is a good and well respected hypnotist, I have had many good dealings with him.

I also agree that the industry should be regulated, maybe not a set course in a set university, but a set level of exam both practical and theoretical, which would be a national standard. So that you could learn hypnosis anywhere but have to sit an exam and achieve a national minimum standard to get the letters after your name.

~The associations are all just a money grabbing exercise, and at the moment you can join any or all of them if you are willing to pay.

hope it works out hector . i was going to rent a room from a hair salon a few years ago but they were only going to let me use it on certain days . maybe i should have put more effort in at that stage . sounds bad but i had more of a laugh in the pub with instant inductions . might never make a fulltime living at it but what a party trick . add me on facebook hector and we could meet up sometime . im very interested to know more about running a practice . http://www.facebook.com/#!/cleaning.guy.3?sk=wall

Can anybody be hypnotised?
Title: Re: Do You Smoke? Do You Want To Quit?
Post by: *Hector* on July 13, 2012, 03:43:30 pm
Generally yes.....

However not by anyone....

if that makes sense....

Usually people with higher intelligence can be hypnotised quicker than those of lower intellingence..

For me to be hypnotised takes micro seconds  ;D ;D ;D

is it instant?
Title: Re: Do You Smoke? Do You Want To Quit?
Post by: *Hector* on July 13, 2012, 03:50:36 pm
Induction can be instant, as Dan says that is good for party tricks and stage hypnosis, however for anything else I would be more inclined to use gradual induction methods, or progressive relaxation, which means that you just relax, and relax, and drift into trance gently and pleasantly.

Also you are fully aware, and in fact more aware of what is happening than you would be in normal circumstances, so the thought of someone else having control of your mind, is in fact purely comic book and film stuff. You can also come out at any time, should you so desire.

yes wynne they can but only if u want to be . cant do it against your will .  if u believe it will happen then it will happen. although theres got to be a rapport with the hypnotist .u might be surprised how often you go into trance yourself . daydreaming , watching tv , motorway driving . its a natural state .

Hi All.
Since my last post I have been on a long weekend break courtesy of the N.H.S. after a customer of mine who is a cardiology
anesthetist (thanks Dr Bennet) picked up on my symptoms and checked my blood pressure which showed 260 over 160, because it was so high he checked his wifes(who's also a cardiology doc) blood pressure in case the equipment was faulty and his wifes turned out to be 120 over 60.
After he'd done some major string pulling I was admitted to the the coronary care ward in Morriston hospital Swansea. And I.ve spent all weekend being referred  to as the unorthadox admission and very good friend of Dr Bennet. He came to visit me on sunday morning and told me that my blood pressure was the highest he has seen on someone that was still able to walk,he actually thought I had had a mini stroke. I'm off to the ophthalmologist(eye doc) to see if he will be able to repair my eye damage(which was the symptom Dr Bennet picked up on) and I'm waiting for the results on my other end organ damage such as kidneys.
On the plus side he said when I'm better He said his stone floor looks fab and can he have it sealed too!  I suppose that will have to be a freebie!
I was told by my Dr in hospital that if I had gone in to hospital by conventional means I would have had a stroke or major heart attack by then! So it really is true "it's not what you know it's who you know!

So How ever you manage to stop smoking just do it! If one method doesn't work try something else!

All the best
                 John

p.s. doctor Bennet says if it weren't for smokers he'd be out of a job. but can always get another job, Can you get another life?

Hi Hector,
Getting better thanks, I stopped 3 months ago........pretty ironic that i get my problems 3  months after I stopped! lol  :)

Yes it is... but ... just think how bad it would of been if you still did smoke??

Once you stop, you actually get worse for a while with coughs etc, as your body suddenly starts to feel clean, and then begins the process of cleansing it properly.....

After 6 - 12 months you really start to feel better. I can't eat tomatoes now without them tasting really bitter, this is new since the nicotine etc cleared off....

John hold back on the freebie, you haven't got his bill yet.  ;D

I bet you feel very fortunate. A lot of seemingly fit people drop cork legged because they never   get checked out.

Getting an eye test every year is also a good idea because they can tell a lot from looking in your eyes about your general health.
