Just wondering what peoples choice of bonnet is?
I currently use a microfiber one like the first bonnet on the restoremate website http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15094/Products/0002e (http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15094/Products/0002e)
I want to try out some different types particularly for use with heat. What is everyone's recommendations?...
Rob :)

That is the sort I use all the time.
They last ages too.
Don't do no heat so can't help there.
-
Hector, i thought you used these? ;D

Hector, are you the ugly one out of Little house on the Prairie?
Yup
;D ;D ;D

I have found the restormate microfibre bonnet achieves great results.
-
Having used, microfibre, cotton (Prochem) and charly pads i have to say the microfibre pads were the least effective.
-
Which pads do you find most effective Richie?
-
I think if your going for value for money then the cotton pads Prochem sell are brilliant. Get results every time whereas the microfibre pads are very poor on anything that is even remotely dirty.
-
I disagree..
Microfibre I use all the time and they absorb an awful lot more dirt than the ordinary cotton ones, and you can turn them over before having to get another one.
-
I disagree hector, I have found the microfibre pads do not absorb as well as the Cotton type. You can also turn the cotton pads over before having to get another one.
-
;D ;D ;D
Guess Robin Ray will have to get both and try them out for himself then.
;D
-
well...
I have ordered some of the thinner scrub pads so I will compare them first.
I am suprised this being a carpet cleaning forum and all... that only three ;D people have an opinion on what pads/bonnets are best. ;D
-
i agree with richie, i had a couple of the microfibre pads from solutions, i found them rubbish, ended up giving them to Ash White, i now use the cotton ones from restormate, much much better than the microfibre, just my opinion
-
it not just me that thinks the microfibre ones are rubbish :) If you want the ULTIMATE in pads then CHARLY pads are the ones to go for however they do cost around £65 each. If you are to use the padding system on a regular basis then CHARLY pads are worth a look at.
-
I only LM clean, and use the microfibre ones to great effect, so as I said earlier horses for courses.
It may be how you use them.
-
is there a specific way of using the microfibre pads that differs from others?
-
there are different ways of doing everything....
how you mix solutions, how warm they are.. which solutions..
They all have a bearing on the end result..
So yes there are specific ways to get the best out of them...
-
Yes i know about different techniques. I have used various different techniques and chemicals. All of which works great with Cotton and Charly pads but poor with microfibre.
-
Then your technique is different to mine then.
;D ;D

I have never found microfibre pads to work well when straight bonneting.
I find they work much better for either agitation with an encap product or again for agitation when scrubbing carpet tile after restorative extraction cleaning to erase yellow traffic lanes.
Have always used the green striped bonnets for bonnet cleaning having played around with many different types over the years.
