You don't have to go to Cornwall to try out m/s, they do a fantastic sample pack for £39.50 and you get loads of different solutions to try and if you spend over £150 within 60 days they will refund the cost of the sample pack, its delivered by courier within a couple of days.  http://www.worldofclean.co.uk/carpet-cleaning-chemicals/solution-special-sample-pack.html (http://www.worldofclean.co.uk/carpet-cleaning-chemicals/solution-special-sample-pack.html)

The above is a 5-15% solution of STPP in water ..  and they call that concentrate ?

Option C  ...  if you dont want to visit the Scientologists in cornwall   :D     or pay
for   bulky 'concentrate '

Could buy STPP from here and mix with water at home ...
£20s worth could make 10L 10% solutions for a few quid if my maths are good .

No Brendan , haven't tried them , but i intend to  .  Just found the site a couple of weeks ago after going on a data sheet reading frenzy and then looking for somewhere to buy the separate ingredients ... they look to be based in the north alright .

Which deodorizer do you choose Hector ...  do u just dilute in water ?

I think it was the floral one. Lable has come off.

Just dilute something like 100:1 otherwise it is too strong a smell, and I bought 25 litres 18 months ago. Still more than half left.

Very good value.

I think Mick Halliday has mentioned them before as well.

I used to use Pureclean and if you like prochem brand then try it, but I use SPM now which is a MS with a booster.

R &D labs ?

MS is just STPP on its own ...   using it on its own seems to be more of a philosophy than about using the best cleaning product .

Most of the other cleaning products will have STPP or sodium carbonate as one of the main cleaning agent but also including other ingredients  surfactants  , builders , boosters , oxidizers , brighteners etc ..

Many of them brands are just the same or variations of similar ingredients marketed differently .

I'd say your missing nothing sticking with your usual prochem ...  but u may get more product for less in bulk from other suppliers .

The homebrew version would be ....
Two spray bottles ....   35% hydrogen peroxide in one
10% ammonium hydroxide in the other
spray on stain at the same time , wait , rince .

local chemist might stock , if not ebay has 35% h202
    mistral has 30% nh40h , dilute further .

John what would you recommend as a home made [or mistral chemical] to use as an acid rinse?
Title: Re: Has anyone had any experience with....
Post by: Brendan (chem2clean) on July 08, 2012, 11:06:50 pm
mike i have tried the acid rinse, years ago now but what i remember i think it was only like 4 euro for 5 litres, smells like pizzzz do
john,my girlfriends a hirdresser, she can get 30% or 40% peroxide, but its cream peroxide,im thinking this might not be good.

Mike , i looked up a prochem and chemspec rince ...
one used acetic acid and one citric acid ...   dont think it matters as long as the rince is acidic .

If im right this , diluted should make about 20 liters at the same concentration as a prochem rince  , which is then used at between 50-1 and 100 -1

Brendan ...
No !  get the liquid peroxide  :)

Do you and solutions use the same lab/supplier by any chance Tadgh ?
looks like your selling something close to 'M power ' there    :)
