I am looking at changing my wet vac for a twin motor, has anyone got any recommendations on what to buy and what not?
-
I have old Soteco's that never die.
You can get similar ones called Geckos or V-Tuf.
-
Cheers, you're on the ball. an answer to both my questions. Hope to return the favour one day ;)

That looks good, 3000 watt...wow! Is that a twin motor?
-
Think it may be 3 x 1000watt.
Thats what my older model Sotecos are.
-
Yeah, just had a look on the net, it is a triple. Good price too, it could be the one for me! Thanks ;)
-
Rob,
I have a Gekko Vac from AllforStone. It has been very good and you are right it is a good price for a triple vac.

We sell them but I have to admit we use them on a daily basis as well and we have never had one gone wrong exept for two that were abused in that the customer tried to bounce them over cobbles with 80 litres of slurry in them.

I have just ordered 12 Original Soteco's for stock. They will be in next week! I don't think they are any better than the Gekko's but Heyho for those that prefer them they are on order!
We also have an offer on until the end of August in the Buy It / Wanted section that we wish to purchase old Rotary machines and wet vacs. We will also take them in P/Ex against new ones.

Kev, if there a spec sheet I can view for pump and debris collecion mainly volume / filtration level,
Do any guys currently use these as gutter vacs ???
-
I can send you the figures for the pump out specs tomorrow. As regards for gutter vacs we sell these to a gutter vac company. How did you get on with the Aqua Mix Sealing & Coating Remover? Have you tried it yet?

i think if you were to use this machine as a gutter vac the hose and suction hole would need to be replaced by one with a 2 inch diameter, the power of machine will be fine but the small diameter hose will keep blocking if used on gutters

Cant see hose dia assumed it was 38 if so that would be fine worse case change hose to smooth bore ;D, thats what we did to our current vac, most blockages occur at the pipe inlet depends how its been designed, concern I have is the nylon filter and how much wet debris it can take need to see vacuum really.

Mike
Feel free to pop over and have a play with one or a couple of the vacs
