nothing wrong with the weather, we are in England you know 8)

???The early summer has been the wettest since records began more than 240 years ago, the Met Office has confirmed.
Figures covering three months up to 23 July show more than 387mm (15.2in) of rain fell in England and Wales.

That is more than double the average of 186mm (7.3in) for the period, resulting in two bouts of devastating floods in parts of England in June and July.

The previous biggest summer deluge since records started in 1766 came in 1789 when almost 350mm (13.8in) fell.

I hate to be picky but these types of records began in 1910 - not 240 years ago in 1766.

Why do weather records only begin in 1914?

Actually, they didn't. While the Met Office seems keen on saying "since records began in 1914" to describe any kind of record-busting weather (such as 2007's "wettest summer"), it has records that go back much further.
The England and Wales Precipitation series, which measures rainfall and snow, goes back to 1766, and the Central England Temperature series, which covers the temperature from the south Midlands to Lancashire, is the longest-running record in the world, dating from 1659.

"They were kept on a personal basis by amateur meteorologists," says Sancha Lancaster, a spokeswoman for the Met Office. "We have an archive here of thousands of people's weather diaries. Many don't just record the weather, they also record the effects on wildlife and plants. It takes years to quality-control them and put the data on to a computer."

Weather data records were standardised in 1910 which is why that date onwards is the one used for accurate data.

its never been much of an issue cleaning in the rain until now..but im absolutely sick of this weather now
im lucky that i only need to work part time hours every day.i offer a 24 hr rain guarantee
which has now become pointless with day after day of crappy weather.

im not normally a negative person but seriously thinking of selling my work as im not
sure i can take much more of this misery especially as they are predicting this weather
to carry on until at least the end of july

The last coulpa years have been bad... there are always those who say go out and work in the rain, but the reality is custards are unhappy about this and you're asking for trouble down the line.

Better to have a little savings for these rainy days so you don't have to panic and go and do work that simply annoys your custys.

ps, for those with hefty loands on cars/motorbikes etc. - tough, you should have thought about this before.

A lot of (if not most) negative mental afflictions such as "misery" comes from projecting into the future and thinking it's going to be bad.  We are all capable of doing this, but the only effect it really has is to spoil the present.

So stop it; practise some mindfulness; enjoy your time off.  It won't be as bad as you think; just get stuck in when the weather allows it.  Use this time to catch up on your paperwork or do those little jobs you've been putting off.

There's people chained to their desks since 7 am this morning, hating every moment of it.  Things aren't that bad.

And this post is probably more directed to me, than to you!  ;D

I've finished early AGAIN today!

I planned to clean in light rain or drizzle but it was throwing it down.

I just can't bring myself to clean windows when it's raining hard.

For the prices I charge I think my customers deserve better.

Even with my 48 hour rain guarantee I feel I would be taking the pee.

This poor weather is hitting me hard now, I'm even gonna have to cut down on my weekend drinking and work Saturdsy's!

I really feel for the newbies who are trying to build their round at the moment, who really wants their windows cleaning in this lot.

Rant over, feel slightly better now.  :'(

ive been bloody ironing half the bloody day..enjoy your time off he says :(

its been like thjis mostly since april you cant always go from day to day sometimes
working weeks need planning and when those plans go down the drain week after week
it gets a little wearing :-\

for me maybe its coming to the end of the road with this window cleaning malarkey
i normally find it easy to plod along but i feel no enthusiasm at all now.i know its pointless
moaning and i am in a fortunate position where work for me needs only to cover minimal
costs.

but just seems like every day for the last few months i find myself looking
out
the window and thinking bloody hell! not again! and my mood just drops away

anyway whingeing ove and back to the ironing ;D

Asking for trouble down the line ?
with the weather the way it is I do hope you have a lot of savings as you will be needing them, the way the weather has been lately, I guess you save three days wage a week to get by on the three days a week it has been raining for the last few months.

Have you been taking your medication ?

We've just finished for the day, and have done everyone on our list!
If it's raining heavily we give the customer the choice if they want to leave it - and only one did! If you give customers the choice and are pleasant about it if they say leave it then I don't see the problem. They can hardly moan if they've given you the go ahead.
We haven't lost a single day due to the weather. If it's really pouring down then we just take half an hour out and wait for it to clear.
I'd rather work in light rain than baking sun anyway  :D

Just listen to Tosh, he knows what he's talking about; your thoughts, they're all in the mind, they don't actually exist, quote wikipedia and make out whatever it is is factual, after all they're just a whole load of electrons wizzing round anyway, they're only thoughts, what does it all matter in the end. Quote wikipedia and make out it's factual, God doesn't exist really, meditate on it, talk bollox to people you've never met and never will do, quote wikipedia and make out it's factual, pretend to be a spiritual giant/guru, spouting wisdom that others have planted in your mind,  quote wikipedia and make out it's factual, talk incessantly about buddism and spell it strangely to make out your just being comical when in actual fact it matters a great deal to you that people think of you as 'special', quote wikipedia and make out it's factual, joke about your partner and make out your a pederast (in a jocular way you understand).
Anyway, after all it's only rain, it doesn't really exist, especially if you're not there, if you are there its only a wet sensation on your skin and nothing more than that. quote wikipedia and make out it's factual, and above all pretend you know EVERYTHING!

I'm fed up of working in the rain and fed up with the constant windy conditions and I'm fed up with the lack of sunshine. And because most of my work is along the coast, I'm fed up with cleaning salt, chalk and sand off customers windows because it takes about twice as long as a normal clean.

Apart from that, I'm fine.

Abusing you?

This is simply a case of a mental state of mind afflicting your attitude to what your brain presents as being reality, the reality that it perceives is your life, but is in actual fact a myth perpetuated by childhood attitudes superimposed into what the conscious part of your brain believes the sub-conscious is telling it in reality, when in actual fact the brains manner of communication is simply that of neutrons and electrons, to mere humans that means electricity, but to boodists like you it means nothing more than an opportunity to talk a complete load of utter drivel and try to pass it off as some sort of half-hearted attempt at talking soopearier to a crowd of half-wits who have more patience with you than you have brain cells.
