Title: Its the weekend - whos working?
Post by: Jamie Pearson on June 22, 2012, 07:34:51 am
So who is having the weekend off and who is having to work and what are you doing?

I am off this weekend thankfully but out of retirement next weekend for one of our carpet maintenance contracts.

4 day weekend for us last week, so working tomorrow :(
Never mind the weather forecast is not so good, so no chance to get in the garden anyway.
Derek, the forecast is even worse for up your way, watch out for the floodwork requests,  ;D

Well I spoke too soon. Thats my Saturday screwed. A rather important local lady came in with 7 stinking rugs for decon. which I will have to do tomorrow as she also wants a concrete floor polishing by Friday which will fill up the only spaces we had in a busy week next week.

Not complaining.  :'(

I am standing in a field at a carnival on Sat and Sun doing temporary airbrushed tattoos. All the girls like them and I have to spray them on for money and on different parts of the body.
If the sun shines I have a queue of maybe 10 or 12 continuously in a line for about 4 hours......it's a terrible job doing all that spraying and to see Mossy spraying those leather settees I thought that I would rather spray bodies than the sofa!!
 ;D ;D

Only had 1 week off in last few years,
Pack bag tomorrow, travel to Gatwick Sunday (check innoculations and visa for south of Watford)
Fly to US Monday for 2 weeks in North Carolina (family wedding)
Worry whole time i am there as have 2 large contracts to finish, and back to start cleaning 41 houses for builders.

i had the weekend off but had a call yesturday afternoon about a job i did last week, were the landlord is not happy that the carpets don't look like they did when the tenant moved in, so we are having a meeting at the property to discuss the problem..... i know what the problem is, the landlord does'nt want to give the deposit back and he's using the carpets as an excuse.

First weekend off for ages so have my " must get those jobs I have been putting off for ages" head on.I'm off to B&Q to get some wood for van shelveing, then off to a party tonight, which will probably mean bad head tomorrow. And will eagerly await the confirmation email from TACCA  to say I am now a member. ;D

he was not shifting, the carpet were new when they moved in they should look new when they moved out, I tried to explain that he has to allow for normal wear & tear but he just don't get it.

he was deducting the cost of a new carpet, i felt sorry for the tenants. I was payed last week so it didn't make any difference to me but it was not right

Maybe the tenant should have floated around during there stay?

I thought a middle man made the desicion on a deduction being fair nowadays?

Working today, late night last night too, didn't get home until 10pm,gf's sons g/f had some numpty break into her house and cover everything with about 20l of white emulsion, sofa which was new, carpets rugs furniture clothes the works.
Gotta write up a report for the 5.0 so she can claim for everything back, as it was not coming out, and had nearly all dried by the time she found it.
Police caught the bloke, fingerprints on paint roller and was covered in paint when they got him  ;D

Watch out with the insurers, they might claim it's a white wash.
